time will tick on gently, and she is free to do as she pleases. however there might appear to be a time where her legs will encourage her in the direction of the sakura tree even if it's not quite her main route - and lune will be neatly seated beneath it.
so that explains that.
there is a raise of their hand to gather her attention - and then a gesture for her to sit beside them on the bench beneath the tree]
[ everyone in subdivided: lune is the smarter/better sign lune: wants to speak with four and makes her their hit man
Four finds it strange where her feet want to lead her, but it all makes sense once she sees who's seated underneath the sakura tree. She doesn't quite like being summoned this way, but there's no going back now.
She sits, as beckoned, and smiles as she nods. ]
Hello, Lune. You can have as much time as you want. What do you need?
[ Before she has to, you know, go about making a certain philosophical question about a tree in a forest a reality. ]
I do not believe that it is something that I need, merely something that I wanted. I understand that beckoning you this way is a bit unorthodox, but I don't want to keep you longer than you'd like to stay.
[she can leave any time that she wants!! but as is, lune will summon a tray of tea in the space between them, picking up a cup for themselves]
I was wondering how you have been faring this week.
[she sort of cried at them last week - they've been worried about her?]
well, she had an argument with shirasu, she got chased by a bunch of random animals and everyone thinks she doesn't know what danger is?, she got told to kill a boy for the good of the universe, and then she got put through some kind of room that made her see through the eyes of a ??? (what's a robot).
She looks down at her hands, which are always covered in gloves when she's in public. ]
This week has been... fine. [ said in that tone that everyone uses when they're not fine ] I'm dealing with it as best as I can. I... Do you know why I shared memories with Shirasu when we touched?
[lune has gone into the garden today, seated on a bench. they appear to be in the middle of drinking the tea that four had prepared for them, and once they lower the mug from their hood, they gesture for her to take a seat beside them]
[ It's nice of Lune to ask, but Four is visibly unwell. She looks around every once in a while like it's a new nervous tic she just picked up. When she takes a seat next to them, it takes a good effort for her to focus on them. ]
I'm— I'm scared. I don't want to be. I want to be able to help, but I'm scared.
[ She looks at their hands, as if they might bite. Very, very hesitantly, she places a hand on one of theirs. ]
I know we tried to head off some of the darkness, but more death still happened— [ Two more than expected. Two fewer targets for any lingering corruption this week. ] And I was suspected but not for the right one— [ Because she was an uncooperative, fussy, dumb bitch. ] Who will be next? How many more will there be?
[ She's frantic, and her hand trembles ever so slightly. ]
She still can't completely shake every vestige of fear from her. She's lucky that even if Shirasu betrayed her, the betrayal distracted from her crime. She knows... she knows what she's done. Lune told her himself that it's worse when someone kills if they aren't corrupted, and she wasn't. She was so sure.... She was so sure Lune would hint towards what she did, but he didn't.
She's afraid for all her own reasons and not because of Shirasu. She doesn't understand. ]
[Lune isn’t going to hide that, because they know almost everything that happens within this space. He’d seen what she’d done, and was hopeless to interfere. Whether through words, or action, he was left without option.]
However I maintain that I have seen greater atrocities in my time -
I suppose I would only like to know why you have acted as you have... Would you tell me?
[the sakura tree sure is lune's favorite during die day apparently.
regardless he'll be seated beneath it, enjoying a cup of tea as per usual. his expression is contemplative, even as he turns the columbine flower over in his fingers and then four approaches, he offers a mysterious smile]
Is it anxiety that you feel?
Or might it be something else?
[this flower in particular has quite a few different meanings, after all. he can't help but look rather amused - if only before his expression settles back into something neutral]
[ it's a confession of love so you can write a rejection
lmao i wish
Four approaches him, trembling slightly. ]
Shouldn't I be anxious? Shouldn't I be afraid?
[ Soft laughter falls from her lips, but she doesn't sound entirely amused. She is, a little, in her own broken way, but they both know she knows what happened to three of the four dead this week. ]
It's hard to say. The future remains rather uncertain.
[and just as in weeks past, lune will silently hold a hand out to her even as his gaze falls upon the way that she trembles.]
I hadn't thought that you would act again.
[it was always a possibility - they'd already discussed that there might be nothing stopping someone who's already killed, but even so he didn't bother to bank on the chance of it]
[four is very endearing - but if she waits outside his home long enough, the door itself will open. lune is not immediately seen, but she’ll feel welcome to come inside if she would so desire -
and the inside seems far more spacious than the out, not to mention an incredible contrast in appearance. the entire area seems to be closer to a museum layout, with white tile floors, and a number of Japanese treasures behind glass, ranging from scrolls to paintings to different types of artisan pottery. small placards list exactly what each item is, detailing its rich history - though it looks as though one display case in the center has been left empty and its placard covered.
in the far corner of the room, there is a screen door - and lune will eventually step out from behind it, his expression warm]
Oh my - I was hoping you would come to see me again, my dear Four.
[ The door opening is invitation enough, and she walks in like the video game character she is.
Anything distinctly Japanese is more foreign to Four than not, but she takes everything in curiously. She may be bitter and angry underneath everything, but she's still has enough mind to look at all this politely.
Her expression is more uncertain than anything else. ]
I didn't know if I wanted to see you again so soon. Even as I was dying, I didn't know if I wanted your words to me to be true.
[ She still remembers getting a sword through the head. ]
But that doesn't change the reality that you're here.
It does not. I apologize, if you are upset that even now I trail after you like a shadow.
[considering the way that they met each other last -
and yet lune remembers the wish that she expressed to him. that he would stay with her, no matter what act she committed. so he makes good on that promise even if perhaps she’s changed her mind on the matter.]
Even so - I am glad to have the chance to speak with you once more.

Might I borrow a moment of your time?

WEEK 2, FRIDAY
We're coloring, binch. They don't look up from what they're doing just yet, but they slouch in their seat to push out a chair for her.]
You asked a really important question. The thing is, the answer depends on a couple of things.
no subject
Four stomps into the library, seething. She's pale, and she barely sees the crayons. If only coloring really could calm her down.
She doesn't take a seat just yet. ]
And what are those couple of things?
no subject
It depends on if they can change back, if you want them to change back, and how bad the damage is.
[They're drawing what looks like a small shadow person.] What exactly happened?
no subject
[ Her words are spat out. Of course she wants them to change back. At least, this particular thing. ]
I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. How much do you two know what happens on Thursday nights?

No! Why is this happening to me?
[ Why, when she only murdered soldiers in the gateway world and no where else this week? ]

lune's hand will drop but otherwise remain in their lap]
I would provide you answers if I could, Four.
