I do not believe I did - I have lived a long time, but only recently have I been able to decide my own actions and act upon my own will.

I believe in that way, it is something closer to having a heart.

Not being able to make your own decision or act your own will... That sounds terrible. I'm glad you have the chance now.

I will say that it is quite different.

I suppose that is why I only wish to truly express to you that despite my request that you assist as a Comet, you are by no means merely a tool to be used at the disposal of others.

... I don't think I've ever thought that, but I'll keep that in mind.

[ She smiles a little, but there's no joy or heart in it. ]

I'm not a stranger to... killing for the ways a Comet does, so it'll be fine. I will be fine.

Is it something that you needed to do in order to protect your lands?

Yes. My sisters and I wanted to make the continent safer for its residents, so some necessary deaths had to happen.

To remove those who would cause harm to innocents?

Yes. I'm not proud of all the blood on my hands, but it was better than the alternative.

[ Evil should be banished, etc. ]

... I am only sorry that it fell to you as a responsibility.

However I am also grateful for your desire to help others to motivate you to protect them.

[ She shakes her head. ]

What must be done must be done. I'm only doing what anyone else should do.

... I have seen many others in time, and I cannot say that it is something that anyone else would do.

Perhaps it is what anyone else would like to do.

Ideally, that is how people should act. How they would like to.

You and I are certainly in agreement.

... however, I find it difficult to fault others for their humanity. When their fear or uncertainty might keep them from being who they would like to be - and it steals their courage and strength.

[ That's why humanity should be stomped out. That's why humanity should be left to die.

Something like anger flashes in her eyes, but she's calm again. She nods. ]

We should all be allowed to grow, but some people need to pushed into self-improvement.
