Death has never been a pretty thing, has it? Though some of you may have seen it coming, many of you have been taken by surprise in the last moments of your life.

Fortunately for you, it's not over yet.

The last thing you may remember is dying, but upon awakening you'll find yourself in what appears to be the meeting hall. Warmed by the ever-present fire, the room is empty and the voting box appears to be missing. In its place are three large panels hanging from the walls that allow the newly dead to peer into the lives of the living.

As you step out into the village, twilight has set in over the sleepy valley casting light and shadows as far as the eye can see. The same buildings appear to be here, all in the same order and with the same amenities. The sakura trees continue to bloom, the kitchen remains well-stocked, and the bell at the shrine echos. Likewise, the river flows through the village and the four elemental regions are found at the edges of the village.

The main difference, however, is the appearance of two additional huts that you don't recognize each bearing an emblem of a sun or a moon.

Make yourself comfortable. You'll be here for a while.

[Sometime in the early stages of the Jiji fight--there's a very loud thud from behind the group watching the murder TV, followed by a yelp. He's sitting up, blinking in surprise for a moment that he's managed to come back before he sits up to look at the screen.]

[I hope to god she actually shoved someone out of the way because that's hilarious. But he's there and Naminé approaches and he just

kind of bursts into tears all over again, that's fine.]

[ well, she's going to immediately hug him. it's more like she crashes into him, really, as she wraps her arms around him. ]

They're fighting Mikazuki.

[He doesn't hesitate to immediately hug back, but he does try to turn and watch the screen.] So that's where he went...[He sounds a little worried, but it's probably not for who you think it is.] Who's they? Ookurikara? Shess?

[shirasu blinks back at him in surprise, but- hi. of course he's gonna be over here now.]

That was certainly a quick entrance.

[Hello, please don't mind him. He looks a little baffled, but there's a nod as he seems to realize what this means.]

The last of my ties with that plane are gone. I can't go back until this is over, I think. [If he gets to go back at all? He's not entirely sure how, exactly, he and Jiji will be handled by the universe but it would make sense why he's here now.]

[He allows it which says something. Maybe it's just because it's Shirasu though.]

The others are. Without us to help guide them back, they'll have to wait until this is over.

[ Futaba and her burrito was probably the victim of that shove ftr. Thanks Nammers. Eventually, she untangles herself and both her and her cape tackles him ]

[Ahh!! He doesn't seem to mind there's a sudden Futaba, though he starts suddenly.]

I think so...I'm not really sure. [He's here, but he's not sure of the state of here.] How're you guys holding up over here?

You're here so I guess that counts for something. [ at least it answers the 'WHERE'D THEY GO' question ] We've been..... [ she glances at the tv and just as quickly, glances away. Her puffy red eyes probably answers that question tbh ]

[They're a pair without braincells, it's fine. He can't bring himself to shake her off either.]

I am, but the others aren't yet. [And it's hard to say when they might be. He lets his eyes drift to the TV, too, a frown pulling at his features.] ...you haven't been watching since the beginning, have you?

Cinnabar's head whips around. There's no relief or gratitude there (why should there be? they hold no fondness for him), but desperation is written in glaring letters. ]

I -- [ they stumble, then continue, trying to make their voice louder. ] I need to go back! Send me back...!

[You know. He just. Shakes his head. Sorry Cinnabar.]

I can't. So don't ask. [It's maybe a little harsh, but...well. They still have a mission to do, even if things are going awry.]

[ they knew his answer would be that; they're not stupid. Yet they can't give up, either. Is this what Phos feels like all the time - dragging themself through various tortures and foolish actions out of pure stubbornness? They resent the thought. ]

But... Shess is...

[doublebladed]

[There's a pause, and he tries to regain some of his patience.

...what would Jiji say in a time like this?]

...Cinnabar. Do you believe in Shess?

but tsuru just nods, although he looks relieved at seeing roxas show up. that's... good. better than what he was expecting. ]

Your Jiji is giving them trouble.

[I hate that later he's just going to see Jiji being a walking shitpost and be so fucking tired, but for now...he just frowns.]

What's he doing now...? [Can someone PLEASE tell Roxas what Jiji even means, he does not flinch at all when Tsuru refers to him as "your jiji."]

He's doing what he does best-- whatever it is that he wants.

[ tsuru shouldn't sound as fond as he does when he says that ]

I should still be there with him. [Pouting...] We split up this morning to complete our mission, but maybe we shouldn't have.

[Actually, this is odd, right? He's here much faster than anybody else ended up around.]

Yeah. It's weird, isn't it? Maybe it's because the universe knows I had to come back. [Though the universe can kinda go fuck off, really.] But I'm okay, I guess.

[Or he's okay enough because he has to be. Nobody needs to know he immediately started crying on Naminé it's fine.] How are things on this end?

Too much to do to let you rest, it seems.

[That's pretty annoying. Even prinnies don't immediately get launched into work.]

It's difficult to watch this, but I imagine it's worse to go through it personally.

There isn't much I can do from here, I think, except keep you guys company and keep watching. [Somehow he'd rather take the work.] I wouldn't recommend it though, no. It hasn't been a great morning.
