Death has never been a pretty thing, has it? Though some of you may have seen it coming, many of you have been taken by surprise in the last moments of your life.

Fortunately for you, it's not over yet.

The last thing you may remember is dying, but upon awakening you'll find yourself in what appears to be the meeting hall. Warmed by the ever-present fire, the room is empty and the voting box appears to be missing. In its place are three large panels hanging from the walls that allow the newly dead to peer into the lives of the living.

As you step out into the village, twilight has set in over the sleepy valley casting light and shadows as far as the eye can see. The same buildings appear to be here, all in the same order and with the same amenities. The sakura trees continue to bloom, the kitchen remains well-stocked, and the bell at the shrine echos. Likewise, the river flows through the village and the four elemental regions are found at the edges of the village.

The main difference, however, is the appearance of two additional huts that you don't recognize each bearing an emblem of a sun or a moon.

Make yourself comfortable. You'll be here for a while.

You're here so I guess that counts for something. [ at least it answers the 'WHERE'D THEY GO' question ] We've been..... [ she glances at the tv and just as quickly, glances away. Her puffy red eyes probably answers that question tbh ]

I am, but the others aren't yet. [And it's hard to say when they might be. He lets his eyes drift to the TV, too, a frown pulling at his features.] ...you haven't been watching since the beginning, have you?

It's still reassuring. [ In a way at least. He probably feels her tense, shoulders drawing up to her ears. What if she just don't admit to it? ] .... I had to know.

[...he'll just loosely hug her with one arm, it's. Fine. They're all in a bad situation right now.]

It's probably harder not to look. [So he doesn't blame her at all, and he knows he'd do the same. He just had to ask.] This is the only way to know what's going to come, but...it's not over yet. We just have to remember that.

Yeah, exactly. I just. Needed to know what to expect. [ Even though it's been so hard to watch and more than one of her star strips have been ruined by it she needed to keep watch. It's probably part of what makes her a navigator but in a way, she needed to make sure she could tell at least one of them someone was there while they... went through this. ]

[I realized this means that he has two girls clinging to him but it's fine, he can deal. He likes Futaba enough.]

Even I don't know what to really expect anymore. [Hence the watching.] But I know they won't give up. I just wish I knew what they know about how Jiji fights.

All we can do is watch, huh? [ this is sO STRESSFUL. where are her stress snacks?! ] I don't think any of us have had enough lives combined to catch up to where Jiji and the rest are at. [ damned immortals ]

You're not wrong. It's a bunch of old people and I guess it makes sense but that doesn't make this any better. [It actually makes it worse???]

Think that's going to make this even harder?

At least it's not an actual old people fight? [ she'd honestly stress herself into finding out if the dead can have heart attacks by now ] Could you even imagine that....?

I think that it's gonna be super messy because they're all OP but.... we'll be okay. [ hopefully. ]

I dunno...Jiji likes to talk about how old he is, but he's definitely not showing it right now. [He's maybe worried about Grandpa breaking a hip later though tbh.] But this is the path we're on. No matter the outcome...it's going to be whatever it was supposed to be.

We'll be fine in the end. I don't think I'd be here otherwise.
