Week 0 - Post Trial

[It was faster than trying to send notes back and forth. When Valvatorez enters the main hall, he'll find Sol sitting in their chair at the head of the room. They don't seem to be in a rush to go anywhere, curiously looking Valvatorez over in thought.]

I think I should be asking you that question myself.

[It's not as though there's much to do. Well, other than research, probably.

There's a soft, thoughtful hum.]

I asked first.

If you're really interested, I'm fine. Yesterday was strange, I've never seen "darkness" do something like that.

[gently scoots this to post-execution...]

Are you familiar with darkness then? [Still not answering Val's questions, but there's a curious lilt to their tone. Perhaps it's best just to entertain them.]

week 1, post-trial

[hello Val, lune will be in the dining hall today. it appears as though they are not dining, but rather have an assortment of flowers next to them on the table and a rectangular box where they are beginning to arrange them. there is also a seashell.

anyway they will pause when Val approaches]

Is that not a question I ought to be posing to you?

You made quite a bold statement today.

[Val walks right up and looks out at all of these arrangements. He has... no idea what all this is, but it doesn't really matter right now does it?]

I know what I said and I'm not taking it back. If we couldn't find any Corrupted, then at least the remaining two would stay alive.

week 1 - post trial

[cyclists]

[Today, Sol can be found seated next to the river by the sakura tree. They're watching little offering lanterns float downstream, but as Val approaches they speak up.]

Was it really so close, you think?

[omegathree]

[Val doesn't sit, but he does stand nearby.]

We found the Corrupted very late.

[A short pause.]

Mm, I could die tomorrow too. It's odd not to be in control of my own destiny.

Week 2, Tuesday pre-war

[cyclists]

[Sol is in the garden today and seems to be watching the koi fish. When Val approaches, they look up and lift a hand to greet him.]

So it did. Are you happy?

[omegathree]

[Ah yes, the koi fish. The ones that aren't good to eat.

He walks up and settles in next to Sol.]

I'm happy to be alive.

week 2, tuesday

[cyclists]

[lune is in the main hall - their gaze focused on the swirling portal that currently beckons others to the mini-event. whether it's before or after the war that val comes to see them, lune will still be seated there, enjoying a cup of tea]

How may I serve you, my friend?

[omegathree]

[It's after the war. Val has his right leg bandaged up and a cane he seems to be relying on for the moment. HIs usual black coat discarded somewhere. It's the white undershirt and the cape he won't get rid of. It's not his standard look, but it's works on him.]

What is this like for you? Did you know that portal would become a battlefield?

Week 2, post-execution

[cyclists]

[The note went unanswered for a day. For once, Sol doesn't immediately reply and when Valvatorez finds himself approaching the volcano in the fire region he'll see Sol perched on a rock platform inside, apparently nice and cozy.]

One out of three. Do you feel like it was a victory?

[omegathree]

[It's Val's favorite place in this entire universe, so he's glad Sol was willing to meet him here for once.

At least they're both cozy in this sweltering heat.]

It's hard to say that when I know two killers got away. They weren't even corrupted.

week 4, tuesday

[cyclists]

[whenever val wakes up presumably!! lune will be in the library, looking over the copy of twilight that they've been given, and look up when val approaches]

Did you make these notes yourself?

[omegathree]

[He yawns. It's a weird feeling to pass out for a full day, and the lingering tiredness? Bizarre. He takes a seat near Lune.]

Of course. Have you met many other vampires here?

Week 4, Tuesday

[cyclists]

[Today, Sol is sitting in one of the classrooms and waiting for Val. It looks like he's reading a book, but when Val enters he earmarks the page and closes it.]

How are things?

[omegathree]

I was out for the last day. I'm... more tired than I would otherwise be.

[Anyway, he'll take a seat near Sol.]

What are you reading?

Week 4, Sunday

[cyclists]

[Sol waits for Val in the library today and seems to have a small object in his hand. The prinny doll sits on the table in front of him though.]

Finished already?

[omegathree]

[The library's pretty nice, all things considered.]

Yes. Though I'll be checking in on their training and skills as we move forward.

[He loves having company so much.]

Week 6, Monday

[cyclists]

[And so Sol waits at the beach like Val originally wanted, but he's quiet and doesn't speak up when Val approaches. He seems to be waiting to see what he'll say.]

[He's here, a couple of candy bars on him, and handing one over.]

... A lot happened this weekend.

[Isn't that an understatement.]

week 5, wednesday

[cyclists]

[lune will be in the garden, sounding quite amused over the doll that he's been given - ]

Did you craft this yourself?

[omegathree]

Yes. I made a few of these with Namine.

These aren't as big as the ones we have in the Netherworld.

Week 6, Sunday

[cyclists]

[He'll be under the sakura tree today, cat on his shoulder and arms over his chest loosely as he waits for Val.]

...do you regret volunteering?

[omegathree]

Not at all.

[He'll take a seat just a little bit away from Sol, so they can't accidentally touch.]

Nobody was corrupted this week. Every killer did this of their own volition.

I'm no closer to the end of my first task.
