[ he can't help sounding amused as he says it ]

[They settle for a discontent sort of noise, tilting their head back to look at the sky. The hood somehow stays on.]

I'll try to talk to her later, I guess. [...they pause again, thinking of what to say. Why is it so hard to think of conversation sometimes? There's a bit of silence as they look down again, staring at the paper airplane.]

Why an airplane this time? [There was reasoning (sort of) behind the stick, so they're curious.]

[leaberator]

[ axel looks at the airplane with a thoughtful hum ]

I couldn't figure out if the ice cream would melt before getting to you.

[ there is no logic there ]

[Seems legit. Another lazy toss of the plane as it circles around as paper airplanes do.]

There's not a lot of time that passes between when the boats reach us and when we get here. It might've been okay.

[leaberator]

Tell ya what. I'll try it next time. We can see then.

[cyclists]

I'd like that. [Please give them ice cream, thank you.]

[leaberator]

Then it's a deal. You got a favorite flavor?

[cyclists]

Nothing you can really get here. I've checked. [Sulking...] What about a surprise?

[leaberator]

[ he's checked, huh. ]

Yeah, sure. But don't blame me if you don't like it.

[cyclists]

Then make sure it's a good pick. [They will be waiting. Expectantly.]

[leaberator]

What if I get a bad one, just to mess with ya?

[cyclists]

Obviously I'd send it back and we wouldn't hang out that day.

[leaberator]

You'd just turn me down without saying anything? That's not very nice.

[cyclists]

I don't know if we can send things back to you. [Now that they think about it. When I went to tell Lili about what she could do I showed up at her house, but that was different.

[leaberator]

Huh. [ it's low, contemplative ] So can you only show up to people when you've got something to tell them or when they ask for you?

[cyclists]

[Thanks html. Anyway. There's a tiny shrug.]

For now. [Things Sol isn't saying: they haven't actually tried.] I don't think we're really supposed to be hanging out here without some kind of purpose.

[leaberator]

What, like a mission?

[cyclists]

Something like that. [They swing their feet idly, and yeah, they're not quite touching the ground because that's sort of funny.] Maybe not a mission, but...I dunno.

I don't know if a lot of people would really be okay with us just showing up unannounced in the first place.

[leaberator]

It'd probably be less weird than you guys only showing up when something big is happening.

[cyclists]

That's true...[Sol is going to consider that for a bit.] If you really wanted to hang out more you could just say so.

[leaberator]

Yeah, alright. I'd like to hang out more.

[cyclists]

[Great. They've each earned one friend. Congrats.]

...okay. [It's a basic answer but they're very pleased, it's fine.] Even if it's just doing something like this?

Hanging out and talking? Sure. S'what I always do with my friends. I guess usually we have ice cream, but I already said I'd send you some next time.

[cyclists]

Yeah I know. [Which they're looking forward to.] There aren't a lot of places here we can go, but it doesn't really matter if we're together does it? It'll be fun.
