CYOA - WEEK THREE
WAKE THE GREAT SPIRIT
Without warning, sometime in the middle of the day of your Tuesday, you'll find yourself beckoned to the gateway. The cave that sits at the edge of the city beckons you, drawing you closer and closer until you find yourself entering it. The darkness envelops you and you know nothing but that you must walk one step in front of the other, one step in front of the other, one step -
Until you blink and there is suddenly stone beneath your feet, ruins in front of your eyes.

Thankfully, you aren't alone. There are five others with you as light filters from above, as though you're on the very floor of the ocean. Schools of fish might swim overhead, implying that you may be underwater but you don't feel the heaviness of the pressure at all.
A small cacophony of noises will arise as six floating orbs rest in the distance, flickering with light. There seems to be chatter there, but it'll take some adventuring closer in order to determine exactly what they might be.
Though the longer you wait, you may feel a rumble beneath your feet, like an earthquake.
And then the curious whirring of... mechanical gears?
... In truth, you might not want to linger here that long.

In this CYOA, characters have been set on a path in order to fight the corruption that lingers within the ruins of the lost continent of Mu. They'll be guided along as they get through the plants that have been corrupted along with a few former inhabitants of the gateway that is within. They'll be separated before congregating to face one final challenge together, and then hopefully be unceremoniously dumped back in the mingle after disappearing. They should ICly be gone for approximately six hours beginning on the afternoon of Tuesday.

shirasu does not trust it at all. he frowns thoughtfully as he looks out across the expanse, that pendulum in hand; if it's providing a direction, well. little point in not following it, right?]
... this way. Be sure to keep an eye out, just in case.
no subject
Right. I don't like this.
[The pessimists at it again!! She's starting to walk in the direction he indicates, though.]
no subject
However they'll find as they walk, the sound of roaring shouts gets louder, along with the rumble of ground beneath their feet, as if something is impacting the earth very, very hard.
There's another whistle - but it's a piercing kind of whistle.
Not unlike the kind you'd heard at an athletic event.]
no subject
Is that another battle...?
[squints into the distance, did they not just have a war... is the whistling a strange sort of call...]
no subject
[She gets the feeling this won't be so simple, though, as she frowns. She's gripping the snowboard as she goes.]
But I get the feeling it won't be that simple.
[And, as such, she's peering in that direction to see what she can make out.]
no subject
Because in the next second, flying through the air as fast as a bullet, there's going to be a football.
If someone doesn't catch it, it's going to pelt Shirasu in the face.]
no subject
[shirasu glances in her direction briefly, about to ask what a baseball is
except in the moment he turns his head there's a football beaning him? he can probably pull some kind of ninja bullshit to make that hurt less if it's moving that fast but
since dana wanted it he absolutely gets smacked, you're welcome.
let it bounce and also bean emma, y/n]
no subject
[She sees it even when he doesn't, and though she reaches out as if to stop it - it's too late by the time she says anything.
And it's definitely bouncing down and hitting her in the face on the way to the ground, because why would I not do that,]
Ow, what the fuck?
no subject
Considering the fact that there is now a dust cloud in the distance along with what sounds like a stampede of bodies, led forward by a rather humongous man with a stars and stripes cape behind them. But that's most definitely a football team.
And behind them?
That's a gateway.
Just past a football goal post.]
no subject
and glancing warily at that approaching mass of bodies.]
Is this-- some sort of battle for the baseball?
[better explain football fast! on the plus side he's not just like, standing there-- he's already working to get further to the side, because the last thing you do is meet a larger force head-on.]
no subject
Yeah, she figures that might as well happen.]
Close enough!
[She doesn't have time to explain that this isn't baseball, it's fine. She's dropping the board, at least, as snow starts to spread out around them - she's hoping it'll slow this Huge Crowd of football players down a little. As she steps onto it:]
Can you fit on?!
no subject
Regardless, there is probably enough room for two people! It won't be a comfortable fit, they're going to have to get close, you know, like they like each other. But it's possible!
Though the snow works to slow them down - sort of!! Dudebros are stupid and will continue to press forward even in the elements, which means even if they slip in the snow, they'll at least slide with it, and start to hurtle toward the two of them at just as quick of a speed.
They might try to tackle them right off the snowboard.]
no subject
Shirasu hops onto the board, though, not too bothered by having to be in Emma's personal space seeing as it's this or probably being trampled by these strangely armored men...
As they get closer, though, Shirasu focuses on manipulating the wire of that pendulum. Specifically, he's nyooming it right in front of them, just below the knees, and then suspending it there. Have a nice trip, hopefully.]
Emma, go-
no subject
[And, with that, she does just that and starts to go down the path of snow she's creating. She also doesn't look too bothered by the proximity, considering the circumstances. Hopefully his plan works and their movement isn't interrupted by a horde of determined football players!!]
no subject
For the front line of baseball players, Shirasu's plan works!! They're felled with the combination of snow and the wire, landing on their big stupid faces. However there's uh, more than just the offensive line! It looks like there's more players who creating something of a wall in front of the goal posts, reading to tackle Shirasu and Emma as they snowboard closer.
What's the new plan? Over? Through?
The goal is, at the very least, right there!]
no subject
...build more speed and head up, if you can make a path.
[Hopefully the snow means ice is also something she can do? Ramp over these guys, let's do it.]
no subject
[She’s doing just that, making an ice ramp that stretches right over them and gives the pair a clear path through the goal post. Just a barista and a ninja snowboarding over the top of a ghostly football team, nothing to see here.]
no subject
Except that the ghosts are still there.
And they are definitely going to at least try to tackle their ice ramp, making it a little shaky. It might start cracking...?? Their descent might be a little rough.]
wow this icon actually became functional
[As the ramp shakes, he reflexively holds on a little more, glancing behind them with a frown. If these guys break it, well, either Emma's going to have to work fast or they're going to drop into the waiting arms of a wall of meaty baseball boys.
There's one way to make sure they stay out of reach though!]
This is going to be risky, but-- grab onto the board and hold on to me.
[Because he has this pendulum and he's going to just like. Swing it out in front of them and suspend it there and PRESUMABLY his end still moves and everything? The end is like a fixed point? We are Spiderninja-ing this shit, is what I am saying.]
no subject
If you drop me I will never forgive you!
[Anyways. Off they go! She's probably leveling some more snow at the baseball players below to stop them from trying to head their way. Everything's fine.]
no subject
Anyway, that - works? Wow, that works. Shirasu's Spider-Man bullshit, now that they're high enough, is enough to be able to propel them through the air, over the beefy baseball players, and soar right above the goals. Home run!
Though the uproaring shouts of the baseball players can be heard from behind them as they all crumble to their feet in shame, anguish. Emma and Shirasu proably need to complete a touchdown dance (not really, but they should). Shadows wisp away from the players and then the gate will open to allow the two of them through.
Nice!]
no subject
Don't let go and you won't fall.
[They will, however, make the kind of touchdown that is literally touching down on the ground, after a few repeats of letting the pendulum go, swinging it ahead, and making their way on down. He's not rude enough to just drop and catch them both at the last second.
In all that swinging around, as Emma's holding onto him she might notice there's like. Something coming loose from a pocket of his shirt that looks like folded paper. I'm giving you the option to try and yoink it before it gets lost to this sick air they've been catching or she can just let it go or warn him or whatever.]
no subject
[She’s looking at the ground as they go so she can tell when to brace herself and step into the grass, but she notices the paper and definitely makes a grab for it, worried that it might fly out of his pocket if she stops to say something. Besides, it’s probably better if he’s focused given what he’s doing, she thinks.]
no subject
That wasn't so bad, was it?
[Kind of fun, actually, I'm so glad Four is going to get something nice out of this. He glances at the paper that's suddenly in her hand, there, head slightly tilted-- and after a moment he holds out a hand for it.]
Ah- may I?
no subject
Hopefully it wasn’t anything important. You almost lost it.
[Her voice is clearly curious, even if she doesn’t openly ask what it is.]
