I guess not. There's a lot of people here who aren't exactly normal anyway. So it's just if you think it's weird to tell.

It's not about it being weird, it's more like--everyone wants to have secrets, right? Other people knowing everything about you is no fun. Especially if you don't know stuff about them in return!

I guess so. [Hm.] I've had a lot of people keep a lot of secrets from me that I wish they didn't, so I don't know if I agree with that. [...] Then again, there are secrets I want to keep so maybe you're right.

But is it really a secret if you don't care it's a secret?

I think it depends. Were they secrets about themselves? Or secrets about something else?

Both? And secrets about me. That's where I draw the line.

That one is awful! No one should be able to keep secrets about you from yourself.

But people do all the time. Pretty dumb, isn't it? [They prop their head up with their hand.] But for a long time a lot of people knew a lot about me that they wouldn't say because of the things it meant.

It's why secrets are a problem even when they're well-intended.

That one's unforgivable.

What would you recommend then if people were doing that?

[specialdog]

Mm... Depends.

Probably just try to get rid of them?

[cyclists]

Okay what if you can't do that? Like that's not really an option.

Why not?

What if they're people you actually like despite that?

Why would you like someone who lies to you?

If they were your friends before they lied to you...wouldn't they still maybe be your friends? Or is it different for you?

I wouldn't want to be friends with someone anymore if they lied to me.

People here are probably going to start lying about stuff. What do we do about them?

[specialdog]

That's kind of a special case. It's for their own safety, right? And half the time they won't even know they're lying--like if they're corrupted and lost their memory of something.

[cyclists]

I don't mean just the people that're corrupted. I mean people who know exactly what's going on.

It still might just be for self preservation. That's a little more forgivable, right?

[cyclists]

I dunno. Isn't that something you guys have to decide on? What's the line between self-preservation and self-sabotage?

[specialdog]

We don't know enough about what's going on to tell the difference, you know?

[cyclists]

Not yet. But I kinda wonder if there's going to be a time you have to pick. Self-defense instead of murder. Self-preservation instead of self-sabotage.

What side would you pick?

If they know enough to make a real choice, no one is going to choose self-sabotage, are they?
