Both? And secrets about me. That's where I draw the line.

That one is awful! No one should be able to keep secrets about you from yourself.

But people do all the time. Pretty dumb, isn't it? [They prop their head up with their hand.] But for a long time a lot of people knew a lot about me that they wouldn't say because of the things it meant.

It's why secrets are a problem even when they're well-intended.

What would you recommend then if people were doing that?

Mm... Depends.

Probably just try to get rid of them?

Okay what if you can't do that? Like that's not really an option.

Why would you like someone who lies to you?

If they were your friends before they lied to you...wouldn't they still maybe be your friends? Or is it different for you?

I wouldn't want to be friends with someone anymore if they lied to me.

People here are probably going to start lying about stuff. What do we do about them?

That's kind of a special case. It's for their own safety, right? And half the time they won't even know they're lying--like if they're corrupted and lost their memory of something.

I don't mean just the people that're corrupted. I mean people who know exactly what's going on.

It still might just be for self preservation. That's a little more forgivable, right?

I dunno. Isn't that something you guys have to decide on? What's the line between self-preservation and self-sabotage?

We don't know enough about what's going on to tell the difference, you know?

Not yet. But I kinda wonder if there's going to be a time you have to pick. Self-defense instead of murder. Self-preservation instead of self-sabotage.

What side would you pick?

If they know enough to make a real choice, no one is going to choose self-sabotage, are they?

I don't believe they wouldn't. [Oh?] It depends on what they'd get out of it. Even sabotage can have benefits, I think.

But if it has a benefit then it sounds like they're just sabotaging someone else, not themselves.
