[What does he have left to go back to, after all? He doesn't know if any of the others lived, and while he doesn't necessarily think he's dead-- well. He also can't be positive.]

I dislike being brought here without my input, but neither do I have anything pressing to return to. In a way, it's an opportunity to think on a few things while removed from it all.

Sort of like taking a break. [Or being in hibernation. Or something. It only raises even more questions but Sol's not interested in prying this early when it seems like maybe Shirasu has some other things to figure out.]

Lune and I were brought here without input, too. But we decided to stay to help try and fix everything that's happening here. We're hoping this won't take that long, but it may be a few weeks.

[An estimate if only because they were already here for some time prior to everyone's arrival.] Is that enough time for you?

I'll hope that it is.

[He needs time to figure out where he's going from here and how, but if things go well, perhaps he can improve on his situation.

Enough about him, though:]

You said you decided to stay; were you offered a choice, then, after being brought here?

[cyclists]

Mm...it's more like when we were asked to help in this world and act as guides for your guys we knew had to. I don't think either of us would have felt right saying no.

Lune and I both have our own goals to work toward. I don't know why we were chosen, but I think if we succeed it will help us, too.

[wagashis]

So you aren't here solely because it was forced on you, but neither should you go unrewarded for it. ...I don't suppose that's a bad position to be in.

[It's something he's not sure how he'd have felt about it, but then he also highly doubts he'd ever have been asked to guide others.]

And what do you make of your work, now that we're here? Have you spoken to many of us like this, or have they held back?

Maybe not, but that doesn't mean we can slack off either. [Sol takes their assignment here very seriously.] If the reward gets me what I came for, then that's even better.

[At that though there's a shrug.] I've only seen a few of you like this so far. I think people are probably going to go to Lune since Lune seems to have more answers. [Sol isn't unaware of their own shortcomings.] He's been around people more, I think.

That was my thinking at first as well, admittedly.

[and is most of the reason why he's not bothering to ask Sol much about how things work, here.

That last comment gets a curious look, though.]

Have you not been around people much? Or is it simply a difference in age?

[Lune did call them young a few times, so.]

That's what I thought. [Sigh. Just because they can agree doesn't mean it isn't kind of frustrating for them. Still, Shirasu asks another question that requires a bit of thought.]

I think it's both. This is the biggest group of people I've ever been around at the same time.

[wagashis]

Not much for crowds, then. I imagine that first meeting must have been a little intimidating.

[Considering both dealing with a lot of people at once and the poor moods some of them were in.]

Can you say much about what you are used to?

[Yes there's a reason Sol wasn't actually the most helpful and that's a large part of it.]

We have to get used to it sometime. [They say "we" even though they mostly mean themselves given that Lune is more composed.] In terms of people? Smaller groups. Way smaller. Maybe about half of this size.

[wagashis]

I generally work with fewer people as well, so I believe we have that much in common.

[but that's just because it's all shady business, basically.]

Are you at least familiar with this sort of place, or is it also something you need to get used to?

[cyclists]

[Welp.]

A village like this? Not really. But I've been to a lot of places before so it's not that weird. It's kind of comfortable.

[wagashis]

It's peaceful, isn't it-- hopefully that helps with the adjustment.

[he's not sure if he likes the calm here or not, honestly, but it at least doesn't complicate anything.]

You travel often, then?

[cyclists]

If people have time to get acquainted with each other and calm down, it'll make this easier. [Hopefully. There's a nod then.]

I was going somewhere else when the universe called me here. I don't know when I'll get to go back, but when I do I'm leaving home again.

[wagashis]

Do you ever intend to return and to stay there, or is it a desire to wander more than an obligation that leads you to leave it?

[He's being nosy, but-- well. He's definitely getting more out of Sol about himself than he was from Lune, and honestly, he's curious how much he can get.]

[cyclists]

Eventually, but not until I find what I'm looking for. [The difference between the sun and the moon is that Lune is smarter than Sol, but Sol's a lot more blunt and honest about themselves.] We were supposed to stay where we were, but things change.

[wagashis]

Even the best-laid plans aren't immune to that, are they.

[very slightly more contemplative, like maybe he's thinking of something specific-- but it's just for a moment before he's back to neutral enough curiosity.]

Well, with any luck-- maybe your efforts here will help you find it.

No, that would imply there was a well-laid plan at all. [Hm. But anyway!]

That's what I'm hoping for, even if Lune and I can't interfere with what you guys do here. So don't let us down, okay?

[wagashis]

It's hard to make any promises, with how little we know right now... but I'm sure we'll try.

[Everything will be fine and they can absolutely count on Shirasu to help. It's super fine!]

Speaking of that, though-- [He'll stop asking personal questions for the moment, gesturing toward the scroll with the powers instead.] Do you know much about these?

[cyclists]

As long as you're trying, that's all I can ask. [They tilt their head back to look at the scrolls with the powers.]

Those things? It depends. What do you want to know?

Not that I dislike the one I seem to have, but I'm curious-- do you know if there's any changing it?

[Shirasu glances over the list again, adding-]

I can make good use of it, but there are others I find just as interesting.

[It'd be useful, not being limited to the same one the entire time.]

[cyclists]

Which ones are you looking at? [Not an answer to the question yet, if only to gauge where Shirasu's mindset is at in this case.]

[He pauses to consider that, for a moment.]

Everything has its uses, I'd say. But it'd be interesting to see the results of enhancing my ability, for one; I'm already often awake at night.

[Moonlight's no problem, with his tendency to be a night owl.]

I can't guarantee anything, but...it'd make sense if it was possible, right? Why else would there be a whole list open to everyone to look at? I don't always understand what the universe wants, but it's like you're supposed to know what options are available.

[wagashis]

It'd make as much sense for it to be there just so we know what others may be using... but I'd hope so. Otherwise, it'd be a little unfair of the universe to show any who dislike their gift what they could have had.
