Do you ever intend to return and to stay there, or is it a desire to wander more than an obligation that leads you to leave it?
[He's being nosy, but-- well. He's definitely getting more out of Sol about himself than he was from Lune, and honestly, he's curious how much he can get.]
Eventually, but not until I find what I'm looking for. [The difference between the sun and the moon is that Lune is smarter than Sol, but Sol's a lot more blunt and honest about themselves.] We were supposed to stay where we were, but things change.
Even the best-laid plans aren't immune to that, are they.
[very slightly more contemplative, like maybe he's thinking of something specific-- but it's just for a moment before he's back to neutral enough curiosity.]
Well, with any luck-- maybe your efforts here will help you find it.
It's hard to make any promises, with how little we know right now... but I'm sure we'll try.
[Everything will be fine and they can absolutely count on Shirasu to help. It's super fine!]
Speaking of that, though-- [He'll stop asking personal questions for the moment, gesturing toward the scroll with the powers instead.] Do you know much about these?
I can't guarantee anything, but...it'd make sense if it was possible, right? Why else would there be a whole list open to everyone to look at? I don't always understand what the universe wants, but it's like you're supposed to know what options are available.
It'd make as much sense for it to be there just so we know what others may be using... but I'd hope so. Otherwise, it'd be a little unfair of the universe to show any who dislike their gift what they could have had.
[A nod.] There are some worlds out there where people start with the lowest kind of power, but as they practice and get better they can get stronger and learn new things. I wonder if it's going to be like that.
Yes. When the universe answers Lune and I can speak to them. We have access to another plane, I think, is the best way to describe it. But we still don't know everything.
Understandable enough, I suppose... I'm sure the universe has little reason to listen to all of us individually, not to mention that I'm sure some of us would have stronger words than others.
[does this make the npcs the universe's complaint box.]
They already had to listen to me and Lune, so that sounds about right. [That is to say, Sol had a few choice words for the universe, too, before they settled down.] But we can still take messages. That probably counts.

[he's not sure if he likes the calm here or not, honestly, but it at least doesn't complicate anything.]
You travel often, then?
no subject
I was going somewhere else when the universe called me here. I don't know when I'll get to go back, but when I do I'm leaving home again.

That's what I'm hoping for, even if Lune and I can't interfere with what you guys do here. So don't let us down, okay?

Those things? It depends. What do you want to know?

[Shirasu glances over the list again, adding-]
I can make good use of it, but there are others I find just as interesting.
[It'd be useful, not being limited to the same one the entire time.]

Everything has its uses, I'd say. But it'd be interesting to see the results of enhancing my ability, for one; I'm already often awake at night.
[Moonlight's no problem, with his tendency to be a night owl.]

It's one of the things we can ask, I guess.

[That last comment is interesting, though--]
You have some way of communicating those questions, I take it?
[can they just like. talk to whatever got them all here.]

[If they're that curious. But he considers that for another moment, his tone thoughtful.]
Is that limited to the two of you? Not that I expected it'd be as easy as sending a message to the forces that be, but still.
[he might have considered that, just to see.]
no subject
But it's just us. We're the go-between for you and the universe. That's our role in this whole thing and why we can't interfere with your choices.

[Another pause for consideration.]
Do you have any idea why we're associated with the elements we are, or only which it is-- and have you had similar abilities, before?
[If they don't know why each was brought here, he doubts they know how they got the elements, but it's worth checking.]
