As The Crescent:
Every Monday, the Crescent will meet with the Signs and be given the opportunity to grant one other player immunity for the week. This immunity will allow the player to live for that week even if they are chosen as a victim by the Corrupted.

Should the Crescent choose to protect someone and that person is selected as a victim, however, the Crescent's name will be provided as the victim and they will die in that week to protect the chosen player.

The Crescent will also be allowed to submit a name for a victim in order to protect someone else. If they are concerned that someone they wish to protect will be chosen by the Corrupted, they may enact a trade to sacrifice another player. While there is no guarantee that the name they've offered will be chosen, this action will earn favor among the Signs.

The choice must be made at the time of the meeting. The Crescent only gets one meeting per week and they must choose wisely if they wish to protect someone and risk their own life, or offer someone as a failsafe sacrifice. (i.e. "I would like to protect X" versus "should X be chosen by the Corrupted, I would like to substitute Y.")

When the Signs seek to summon the Crescent, a portal will appear when they finds themselves alone. Upon entering the portal, they will be brought into a tea room where the Signs are waiting for them. When their visit in the room concludes and they choose to exit, the portal will disappear. The Crescent will find that no matter how long they spent in the tea Room, no time has elapsed outside of the portal.

Additional notes:
The Crescent will be allowed to ask questions about the ongoings of the game and communicate with the Signs in their weekly meetings. They will be able to also receive small hints in the game should they perform well, including game mechanics, locations and more. However, the information received will be up to the Signs' discretion.

What of yourself? Do you have any thoughts on the gateway you discovered, and what is contained within?

The gateway...it felt like a place where a lot of people were hurt once. It makes sense why we were able to sense corruption there. But when we looked, everyone was gone.

Are there meant to be people there?

Are they being contained elsewhere?

[cyclists]

I don't think it's that they're contained. It might be a world that's frozen in time just like this place and like your own homes. We haven't had a chance to really check, but it's small. It's just that one facility.

[tothemaxwell]

I see. [It's hard to grasp the full shape of it, but she nods.] The residents are both present and absent. Is that the case?

However, I'm not surprised to find that one small facility could issue such a darkness. I have encountered similar places in my own world.

Right, exactly. Something just like that. I don't know how exactly...there's a concept similar where I'm from but I never really experienced it myself.

[Though yikes? Yikes.] ...can you tell e what happened? In your world.

How about if we trade stories?

You tell me about the similar situation in your own world, and I will tell you all about mine.

...I wouldn't mind, but...I don't know if I can tell you that this early. [A tug on their hood.] We're not supposed to say too much about ourselves yet. Or at all.

Ah, the rules that keep you both bound.

Can we perhaps make a deal for it? An information trade may be within the rules.

[cyclists]

...a trade doesn't sound too bad. [They can probably work with that.] I don't see why it's against the rules if we do it that way.

[tothemaxwell]

Should we draw up some terms and conditions? Then we may be able to talk freely—or rather, you should be able to.

[cyclists]

[They summon a piece of paper and a pen, beginning to write on it.]

Okay. What's our first term...information should be of equal value?

[tothemaxwell]

I would acquiesce to that. However, who is deciding on the value of our information? Ourselves?

[cyclists]

Why not? I don't think the universe is going to really stop that part, and if there's something they don't like they have ways of interrupting.

[tothemaxwell]

Ah, true enough.

Then, yes. Like for like.

Next: do we define the terms of what we exchange? Or can we leave the contract with an open clause for further trades?

[cyclists]

Well what other possible trades are you thinking about? Is there something else you think you might want for the future?

Who can say? But I would hate for you or I to be limited in our exchanges.

Naturally, if you would prefer otherwise, I am happy to go along.

[cyclists]

Then let's leave it open-ended for now...information is free trade, and other stuff can be traded in exchange for tasks. I think that sounds right.

Yes, I think that works very well indeed. If we can get that level of contractual trade approved, it gives us a good opportunity to work within its restrictions.

[She nods, obligingly.]

Although we are leaving the time period for this open, I will commit now to openly exchanging mutual information with you whenever you are interested, Sol.
