As The Crescent:
Every Monday, the Crescent will meet with the Signs and be given the opportunity to grant one other player immunity for the week. This immunity will allow the player to live for that week even if they are chosen as a victim by the Corrupted.

Should the Crescent choose to protect someone and that person is selected as a victim, however, the Crescent's name will be provided as the victim and they will die in that week to protect the chosen player.

The Crescent will also be allowed to submit a name for a victim in order to protect someone else. If they are concerned that someone they wish to protect will be chosen by the Corrupted, they may enact a trade to sacrifice another player. While there is no guarantee that the name they've offered will be chosen, this action will earn favor among the Signs.

The choice must be made at the time of the meeting. The Crescent only gets one meeting per week and they must choose wisely if they wish to protect someone and risk their own life, or offer someone as a failsafe sacrifice. (i.e. "I would like to protect X" versus "should X be chosen by the Corrupted, I would like to substitute Y.")

When the Signs seek to summon the Crescent, a portal will appear when they finds themselves alone. Upon entering the portal, they will be brought into a tea room where the Signs are waiting for them. When their visit in the room concludes and they choose to exit, the portal will disappear. The Crescent will find that no matter how long they spent in the tea Room, no time has elapsed outside of the portal.

Additional notes:
The Crescent will be allowed to ask questions about the ongoings of the game and communicate with the Signs in their weekly meetings. They will be able to also receive small hints in the game should they perform well, including game mechanics, locations and more. However, the information received will be up to the Signs' discretion.

I see. In that case, would mercy be preferable to justice, I wonder...

I can't answer that since the answer is different for everyone. But for me...sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good. And that includes not always bringing people to justice. It sucks, but sometimes that gray area is just a little too hard to ignore.

In such a situation, what would you do, Sol?

You, personally. As a member of our group, rather than an objective party.

People deserve a second chance, I think, no matter what happens here. If someone blows that second chance...then I'd take the justice route. But that's just me.

[It's not... necessarily something she immediately agrees with, but this isn't Rieze Maxia. Her mission here is a different, and the approach has to be adjusted to match.]

Before you came here, did you ever have to carry out a task such as dispatchment of souls?

...yeah, you could say that. Our main job was to collect hearts because we were told it was supposed to help the bigger picture. This feels a little familiar.

Collecting... hearts?

That's somewhat more grotesque than I might have imagined, unless we are speaking of a different heart.

[cyclists]

It's not a physical heart, no. Not like a human heart. [Man, how to explain...]

There were creatures born from darkness where I'm from. Our mission for a while was to defeat them and collect the hearts they had once consumed in order to try and reach our own goal. We worked every day to collect them, but only a few of us could really collect them because of a special weapon.

I see, I see. Was that what you were born to do, then? Collect hearts, with those special weapons?

[cyclists]

It just sort of worked out that way. I...wasn't really supposed to exist. But because I did, and because I had that weapon, I joined them and started working to collect hearts.

Are you certain you weren't supposed to exist, Sol?

Even if you believe not, from how you have described events to me, you certainly seem to have assisted your friends and colleagues in considerable fashion, collecting these hearts.

[cyclists]

Yes. I'm certain. [That's the one thing he's certain of.]

I did what I had to do, but...eventually I left. I had other things I needed to do, and the place I was at wouldn't give me the answers I needed.

In that case, it sounds as if you did the hardest thing possible, with your own hands. Well done.

What answers did you require?

[cyclists]

I needed to know where I came from. There was someone I had to find to understand what I was supposed to do next, and nobody would tell me. So I left on my own.

[tothemaxwell]

And?

Were you able to find them?

[cyclists]

Yeah. I was. [He ducks his head a bit.] And I went back to where I belonged to help him out. Things changed since then, but it's worked it okay.

[tothemaxwell]

And now you are here, alongside all of us.

Will you be able to go back to your partner after it is over, then?

[cyclists]

[There's a pause, hesitating and uncertain.]

I don't know. That's what we're going to find out when this is all over. [...] "Partner" is an interesting way of putting it though.

[tothemaxwell]

Ha ha. Is it not appropriate?

Best friend, perhaps?

[cyclists]

More like...my other half?

[tothemaxwell]

Your other half?

Two sides of the same coin, perhaps...?

[cyclists]

Right. Exactly. [That's a lot closer.] He's...where I came from, and without me he wasn't a whole person. So it's something just like that.

[tothemaxwell]

Ah, so you complete each other. In a way, that's quite romantic, isn't it? [milla,] You two must have quite the bond.

[cyclists]

[...he buries his face in his hand.] It's not romantic. And I've only talked to him a few times, but he's really important to pretty much everyone I know.

[tothemaxwell]

Ha ha ha, perhaps I should have clarified. Rather than being a love story, it seems simply romantic in the telling. A fairy tale of two brothers, finding each other across time.

Are you not also important, Sol? I'm certain your friends think about you every day.
