[ they stare at him for a few seconds when he opens the door for them, like they don't quite understand what he's doing - but when they realize it, they hurry on past him, giving him an overly-wide berth as they go through the door. ]
I need to learn how to best reapply your arm. As I said, it is not particularly my field... but I am always open to learning in order to make sure the job is done correctly.
It just needs to be strong enough to glue stone together. How difficult could it be? That stuff in the clothes house was for paper, so obviously it wasn't acceptable.
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the finer details of adhesives - it was not something that I often encountered in my experiences. I possess less confidence in being able to conjure that which I am not familiar with, and do not want to mislead you with something that is meant to keep you together and might fail to do so.
[ they huff a sigh through their nose, but say nothing more. They don't even know where to begin looking; they never spent any time reading the historical and crafting documents the gems kept, for fear of ruining them with their staining poison. There's only one thing they know about it. ]
... The kind we use at home is made with sap from a certain kind of tree that grows on our island.
[that's fine, lune seems to be familiar enough with the library to reach the side of the library that would have more information on this. does dana know where it is? no, but lune would]
Could you tell me more about your home? There are other gems such as yourself?
[ this is a miserable topic, but whatever. They put themself in this hole. And they'd better play along if they want their arm back. ]
... Some of us were destroyed recently by the Lunarians. But the biggest loss is because there was a traitor among us who convinced some of the others to join them.
We survived. Recovery or not, we'll continue to exist.
[ they don't know if things will get better, or if they're simply drawing towards an inevitable ending for everything, but they do know that, somehow, they and the others are still hanging on to their fragile existence. ]

However...
I find myself often worrying over those that are broken. There are humans who will discard them after they find them beyond repair, after all.
no subject
Well, I don't know what humans are like in the first place.

[there is a vague gesture toward the houses in the village]
What do you think of them - if I may ask?
no subject
[ a sterling review. ]
They're all like newborn gems... wanting to get into everything, but not understanding anything. They're young, so it makes sense. But it's tiresome.
no subject
No? You do not find them endearing?
[that's what lune thinks anyway, though they're at least approaching the library now. lune will hold the door open for cinnabar since like. arm.]

[ they stare at him for a few seconds when he opens the door for them, like they don't quite understand what he's doing - but when they realize it, they hurry on past him, giving him an overly-wide berth as they go through the door. ]
Why are we going here, anyway...?
no subject
I apologize for the wait.
no subject
I told you, you don't need to do any work. I just need you to give me stronger glue, and I can do the rest myself. Stop meddling.
no subject
[lune is just going to keep on keeping on]
I do not wish to complete the job improperly and cause you more hardship.
no subject
[ they don't know it's called a boutique still ]
no subject
[that'd be really depressing??]
no subject
[ they sound a bit edgy at the suggestion he might not be able to make it, though. Then what will they do...? ]
... You think you can't?
no subject
[lune sees no reason why they shouldn't just read about anything they're unsure about? what else are books for, after all]
no subject
... The kind we use at home is made with sap from a certain kind of tree that grows on our island.
no subject
Could you tell me more about your home? There are other gems such as yourself?
no subject
Mm. [ they cross their arms... or, well. Arm and a half. ] There used to be 28 of us, but now there are 16, including me.
no subject
they'll listen to cinnabar as they go]
May I ask why your numbers have lessened?
no subject
[ this is a miserable topic, but whatever. They put themself in this hole. And they'd better play along if they want their arm back. ]
... Some of us were destroyed recently by the Lunarians. But the biggest loss is because there was a traitor among us who convinced some of the others to join them.
no subject
... I am sorry for your loss.
You must care deeply for your comrades.
no subject
Your sympathy is worthless. Nothing can change what happened. We'll never go back to the way things were.
