... while I have seen the passing of many people that I cared for, I do not think that I have quite grown accustomed to the sight. Even if it is not forever...
If there is a way that I can choose to save even one more of you -
[It's hard to put this into terms Lune will understand, and that add up to the point she's trying to make with this, but:]
So, you know how the darkness here takes people and... makes them different, even if they look the same? There was something back home doing something similar, but worse. It took them over completely, and there wasn't any way to purify them or anything like that. They were just - gone as soon as they were infected.
Something worse. Think of it like a parasite, kind of, so... The body could still move and look and sound human, but there was something different inside it.
[She pauses.]
The actual logistics of that don't matter for the point I'm trying to make, it's just... [A small sigh.] It crashed on the island I lived on, and the closest city on the mainland raised their bridge so nobody could leave. By the time we found a way off... Well, by that point, there was no we anymore. It was just me.
[She looks like she's about to say something, but pauses instead, glancing at his hands.]
...I can't do that again. That's all I meant about - a different kind of burden. I don't think most of the others would be too eager to be the last one, either, unless they're the kind of person who shouldn't be left.
... I am admittedly fonder of each of you than others, and you hold my respect. [lune possesses his own biases] However... I also believe with confidence that all of you would be kind to those who have departed.
You all possess a certain sense of justice what is wrong or right that I can find myself agreeing with, and if any of you were to become an architect for this universe -
I would have faith in the decisions that you make.
You are not aware of the strength that you personally possess and I believe that if it were to truly be placed in your hands, you would surprise yourself with the beauty of the world you'd like to build.
Shess is someone who excels in being able to listen to multiple sides, and to be able to find balance even in the rubble. I think the world that he would build would be quite kind, and very fair. I would like to see what he would wish to do, if he was placed in a position of power for once rather than answering to others.
North carries herself well, and despite her distrust, she was still willing to listen to myself and the young one. One of the first questions she had for me was what I wanted out of everything... which is a very sweet sentiment. One would normally not think to ask their messengers that.
Lea... is often softer than he will give himself credit for. Every choice that he makes, even if it is not particularly one that may be seen as wise, is with the intention of kindness and to preserve that which he loves. Even if I do not always agree with his choices, I cannot fault him for his humanity.
As for Ookurikara...
[a smile spreads across Lune's face]
It would be remiss for me to not place faith in my comrade. He and I are in many ways the same - though he is still a bit younger. His growth might not be readily apparent... but he is incredibly kind, and highly devoted.
[She listens to all of that, nodding once he's done. She'll remember, even if there's no way to deny that she looks a bit embarrassed (but pleased) about what he says about her.]
...Do you know exactly what the decision would look like? I mean - how would the person left behind create the world?
Though I imagine that they will be able to decide whatever it is that they'd like - how to handle the corruption, the fate of the departed, perhaps even the way in which worlds are currently able to operate...
[please pretend milla was in his list somewhere i somehow completely blanked please forgive me, he loves milla so much
anyway at the question he pauses]
... Shess or Ookurikara. Though Ookurikara will likely meet his end before he would willingly survive in place of a friend, as long as he trusts that friend to do the right thing.
[so basically if shess is uncorrupted, lune thinks that it'd crumble down to pretty much the same thing]
no subject
...Isn't that going to happen anyways? I mean - all of us except for one. You're not a part of our group.
no subject
If there is a way that I can choose to save even one more of you -
I would always choose to take it.
no subject
[Why she wishes it could be him, that is, even if she knows it more than likely can't.]
no subject
... I would not wish my lifetime upon any other - and what I have done to learn what I have.
It would be an insult to each of you, who have faced your own struggles, and have your own views on what a universe ought to look like.
no subject
...I don't think any of us are really going to want to do it, even if anyone on that list could.
no subject
Are you worried of the burden it might place on your shoulders?
[it's kind of a lot
to be able to shape an entire world]
no subject
[She pauses for a moment.]
Have I told you what was happening back home for me, before I came here? I don't think I have.
no subject
If you would care to share, I will always listen.
[he's a bit curious - she'd mentioned a few things, but mostly out of order]

... is that so....
A disease? Or something more sinister?

... to already suffer a case of survivor's guilt and to be forced into this...
[he gently places his other hand atop hers that he's holding, as comforting a gesture as he can make it]
You have been through great ordeals.

[lune can understand that, to some degree]
Even if I could take it from you... I selfishly cannot say for certain that I would -
I do not know if it would be possible for me to accept that the young one fall before I do.
no subject
Wait, but - the two of you aren't included in everybody but one, are you?
no subject
[they're a little overpowered still
but]
... well, I have been wrong about the machinations of the universe before.
no subject
[She takes a breath.]
But, if I can ask - the people you mentioned... Why us?

[a tilt of his head]
Even so... my list of recommendations remains the same.
no subject
I'm not trying to get you to play favorites, but considering there can only be one... Is there someone you'd trust more?
[She's asking because, in turn, she trusts his judgment.]
