Not in all cases. It is hard to say how people will change if they have but one conversation earlier, if they discover something new that they didn't in another situation...
It's cheap, that's all. Heartfelt speeches to change who someone is and rescue the villain... It's not any different than manipulation, and that isn't how the real world works.
I guess--there's a library here, so you must know about books. So... Kid's stories. The ones where you can resolve everything peacefully and everyone is good on the inside.
[ Akane's preferred genre is definitely aimed at kids. You can't love it as much as she does while also sincerely hating such a core element of it, such a staple of it... So even if it's hypocritical, and even if she derides it and criticizes it all the time... ]
