I'm against allowing myself distractions, in situations such as this one.

Does your goal not involve happiness?

I suppose it does, in some ways.

[it's complicated. for his people, definitely-- but he's unlikely to have that same warmth in his own life.]

It involves the happiness of my people more than my own-- though of course, I'll be satisfied if my desires do come to pass.
