It's different this time. They know they're running out of time...what other choice do they have?

Running out of time is no excuse not to be cautious--

[he shakes his head, there, exhales a heavy breath.]

...it's difficult, leaving it all in others' hands.

I know it is. But that's why we work to build up trust with each other, Shirasu. When it comes to stuff like this, we have to. I can't tell them what they should and shouldn't do.

[wagashis]

I have little trust in the ones I'm sure the others would be all too happy to leave everything to.

[that's the biggest problem.]

And I can't say I trust some of the people you trust, but compromise exists for a reason. [Hm.] Why don't you trust Shess that much?

[wagashis]

Mm. I don't like him, at the root of it... but I also don't know him well enough to say what he'll truly want in the end. He's the one who pointed out those hints and drew more suspicion to me-- though that's not the cause.

[a hum, and-]

I dislike how easily they all let him get away with everything. I can't say I approved of his actions the other day, either, but it sits poorly that others would be willing to entrust all of our fates to someone who's perfectly happy to expose others' secrets while keeping his own.

Perhaps it's that we're too similar in certain ways.

[because, well, he'd absolutely accept trust and not be open in return. he dislikes that it seems to work so well for shess.]

[In a sense, that's valid and it makes sense. He doesn't like that it makes sense, but it does and he takes a moment to ponder over what to say in regards to that opinion.]

...I don't think it's so much about letting him get away with everything, but that they trust him to at least keep a level head when the time is right. Isn't that what's important for a decision like the one we have to make?
