I think everyone has an idea of why they would be here even if it sounds pretty strange or hard to believe. Think it's something like that? Like knowing but not wanting to agree with it.

Sort of. [How to explain...] I think over time your motivations may change, but your goals won't. The longer you're here and the more people you meet, you may find yourself willing to actually form alliances and change strategies.
