Comets

Comets will be called on by Sol and Lune only when they need someone eliminated. Murders must not be made outside of their knowledge and the Comets will not be able to refuse an assignment. Sometimes Comets may be asked to work together, but often times they will have to act alone. However, both Comets must be in attendance when the Signs have an assignment.

When the Signs seek to summon Comets, a portal will appear when a Comet finds themselves alone. Upon entering the portal, they will be brought into a tea room where the Signs are waiting for them. When their visit in the room concludes and they choose to exit, the portal will disappear. Comets will find that no matter how long they spent in the tea Room, no time has elapsed outside of the portal.

Outside of Sign-requested kills, Comets may participate in the game as normal including fulfilling their objectives and using their gifts.

Comets will be able to kill without being put on trial so long as it is a Sign-ordered kill. Any kills Comets make outside of a request are eligible for trial.

What does this mean? This means that Comets will be able to kill without leaving behind any incriminating evidence, and if they are voted for in-trial during a week in which they kill they will not be executed. However, they will become more vulnerable in the following week and be on the list of victims for the following week.

Comets will also be able to receive access to additional tools for murders should Sol and Lune see fit.

Additional notes:
The Comets will be allowed to ask questions about the ongoings of the game and communicate with the Signs in their weekly meetings. They will be able to also receive small hints in the game should they perform well, including game mechanics, locations and more. However, the information received will be up to Sol and Lune's discretion.

[On Monday of Week 5, both Comets will find themselves drawn into a portal that brings them into the tea room. On the long, low black table in the center of the room, they'll find one long scroll that depicts their target this week. The handwriting is different from all other scrolls that have been on display in the village.]

[Please respond to this toplevel with when you will carry out the assignment , who is killing whom (or if they are collaborating), what the fatal blow will be, and where the body will be found. All other evidence of the kill (injuries, property damage, etc) will be magically erased by the Signs upon completion of the assignment.]

LUNE

[ Absolutely immediately: ]

[cyclists]

... I am not pleased with the necessity of it either.

[there's something solemn in lune's voice then]

However it does not change the fact that, at the moment, it remains a necessity.

[stillstands]

Forget necessity!!! We've proven two weeks in a row that we can purify the Corrupted without killing them. Tell me who found those items and I'll find another -- that way no one dies.

Hang letting someone die out of "necessity" when we might be able to help them!

[cyclists]

[softly, but with a quiet sort of understanding]

If there was currently room for such a hope, I would assure you that we would cling onto it as tightly as possible.

However, those items are not given at the request of the young one and myself. If one will appear... it will do so today. Should you find it, we can see about having the order removed.

But I do not wish for you to believe in a lie that will not come to fruition either.

[stillstands]

If it's there I'll find it.

[ She's completely, totally serious. If it's out there, she'll do everything she can to find it. ]

... I can't do this them. I just can't.

[cyclists]

[there is a moment where lune pauses, drinking his tea and seeming to think of an answer]

... do you believe death is the end, Miki?

[stillstands]

It's pretty final, regardless of what spiritual beliefs you have about life after death or reincarnation. It's the end of you, as you are now. That's still an ending.

[ maybe one day she'll drink the tea in front of her, not today. ]

[cyclists]

Certainly, all things are meant to break one day. I hold that belief as well, even if I understand the fear of it, and wish for it to be a very far day for each of you.

[but lune will hum thoughtfully]

Yet I also believe that in a place as malleable as the center of the universe, such preconceived notions may not appropriate to rest faith in.

[stillstands]

But not far enough for some people.

[ she just looks down at the table for a moment, and sighs. ]

Regardless of what it is, I just can't keep failing people. Not like I have been. Here and back home.

[cyclists]

Oh? I wonder what gives you the impression that you have been failing - here, at the very least.

[stillstands]

We didn't even stop to consider that we could save Tokidoki. Maybe if we had, or if we'd looked hard enough, we might have been able to.

SOL

[cyclists]

[forefall]

... Is it the same reason as the last?

[cyclists]

[A nod.] We caught it early, but it will take hold of her this week.

[forefall]

It's a shame. She spoke so much for honesty and justice above others. For the corruption to target her...

[ It's tragic. ]

[cyclists]

It's like we've said. The darkness can take many forms, even when it comes to something that can be seen as right and just. Power like that is something that can be hard to control, especially if someone's stubborn enough.

...I wish there was another option.

[forefall]

[ ... ]

Don't we all? [ A pause. ] I'm willing to accept this as unavoidable, but....

[ Miki doesn't seem to want to. ]

[cyclists]

[It's hard. It's definitely a struggle.]

...the most important thing you can do is support her, Four. We didn't give you guys an easy task, but as long as you take care of each other it's at least a little more bearable, I think.

[forefall]

I'll try my best to support her. That is the least I can do despite everything else.

[cyclists]

It might make up for some of the things that've happened here. So...I appreciate that.

[forefall]

Would it?

[ She sounds a little doubtful. ]

[cyclists]

Well...it would help even if it doesn't entirely make up for everything.
