Comets

Comets will be called on by Sol and Lune only when they need someone eliminated. Murders must not be made outside of their knowledge and the Comets will not be able to refuse an assignment. Sometimes Comets may be asked to work together, but often times they will have to act alone. However, both Comets must be in attendance when the Signs have an assignment.

When the Signs seek to summon Comets, a portal will appear when a Comet finds themselves alone. Upon entering the portal, they will be brought into a tea room where the Signs are waiting for them. When their visit in the room concludes and they choose to exit, the portal will disappear. Comets will find that no matter how long they spent in the tea Room, no time has elapsed outside of the portal.

Outside of Sign-requested kills, Comets may participate in the game as normal including fulfilling their objectives and using their gifts.

Comets will be able to kill without being put on trial so long as it is a Sign-ordered kill. Any kills Comets make outside of a request are eligible for trial.

What does this mean? This means that Comets will be able to kill without leaving behind any incriminating evidence, and if they are voted for in-trial during a week in which they kill they will not be executed. However, they will become more vulnerable in the following week and be on the list of victims for the following week.

Comets will also be able to receive access to additional tools for murders should Sol and Lune see fit.

Additional notes:
The Comets will be allowed to ask questions about the ongoings of the game and communicate with the Signs in their weekly meetings. They will be able to also receive small hints in the game should they perform well, including game mechanics, locations and more. However, the information received will be up to Sol and Lune's discretion.

If there's going to be more than one corrupted a week, you're asking all of us to work harder to find more people. And there's far more at risk when voting.

So I'm asking the same of if not you, whoever it is that's helping and guiding you. [ sounds fair to her. ]

That's more than enough - knowing that we were even split. I can work with that.

...we're working as hard as we can, but there are some things where my hands and Lune's hands are tied. I'm sorry if that's unfair, but it's unfair to us, too. We're doing what we can, but this week we weren't able to sense anything new. That's all.

[But there's a nod.] I figured you'd be able to work backwards. Keep that in mind, it might help.

[ She closes her eyes and sighs. ]

So now it's just a waiting game to see if the person we failed to catch strikes again this week, or if they bide their time. [ ... or if someone else gets corrupted as well, is the unspoken part of this. ]

I will. I need to do so more investigating into powers, and this gives me a solid reason to do so.

You have everything you need to find the corrupted. It's just a matter of putting the pieces together. [...]

Do you want some advice?

It won’t count as too much interference if you give me some?

[ Might as well lay a card on the table though: ]

I figure they must be a water user, after what we learned at the trial. But all the water users I know have proven they hadn’t used their abilities last week.

I don't think so since I'm not telling you exactly what to do. [But before that:] How many water users do you know?

Alright then. If you can, I'd like to hear it.

Not many - two, and given what we found out at the trial, I think Junna was a water user too. So three out of the potential eight.

Try to keep finding who belongs to which elements, and don't keep all of that information to yourself...just in case.

[But as for advice?] There's never such a thing as looking too closely. Even if someone thinks it's unnecessary to look, always question "why not?"

I'll probably write it down in my notebook. It's... somewhere that shouldn't be found while I'm still here, but if I do end up dead it shouldn't be impossible to find.

[ Aka her partner doesn't sleep so it's under her mattress. ]

...the darkness has a weird way of manifesting in people. Sometimes it makes people angrier, but sometimes it makes people overconfident and unshakeable. Learn to read more about people and you'll start finding your answers.

[ just don't take her notebook, sol. ]

Once I know the traits of the people around me better, it might be easier to tell when they're acting too much a certain way.

Exactly. If there's behavior that's out of the ordinary, or if they let things slip. That's also why we want you guys to get to know each other better.

You've been talking to other people, haven't you?

Yes. It's kind of impossible not to, I think?

I don't know, you'd be surprised how many of you are still avoiding others. Have you found anything interesting?

Define "interesting". [ She's had a guy tell her he's going to shine a flashlight through her window at night, and later on this week a clown's going to break her window because he's got a fight boner for her partner. ]

But I think I have an idea of people's general personalities, if that's what you mean?

[ Oh. ]

Regarding powers -- is it interfering if I ask you what elements Mary, Tsurumaru and Tokidoki were?

[Hm...]

You successfully did what we asked, so I don't think it's interfering too much. Two of them were air, and one of them was earth. Tokidoki's death was actually a little ironic, in a way.

[ Oh my god. Sol. That's not funny. ]

Oh... [ Mmmmrr. ]

So air has taken a lot of hits.

[Yeah it's really not, but oh well.]

Their numbers are definitely going down...but that would also make narrowing down the rest easier, I think.

Yes. If I'm right, I only need to figure out who three more of them are.

And then what will you do with that information?

... Well... if we know what elements are involved in any future deaths, and who has those elements, it'll make it easier to narrow down a suspect pool.

We wouldn't be wildly guessing. And if we know the elements of any potential victims, it helps us narrow things down further regarding what could have happened.

You mean knowing who used their powers each time so you aren't relying on a 50/50 chance. That's not a terrible strategy...but what about your special abilities? Are you learning those, too?

Yes. If we know people's elements we can narrow down the possibilities more. If you tell us fire, water and earth power were used and the victim is fire, we know we're looking for people who can use water or earth.

[ ... ]

I'm trying when I can. They're so... different to me that sometimes I forget I have them. But I'm trying when and where I can.

You're from a place without magic, right? It takes some getting used to when you're first learning but then you start relying on it more and more. Elements are good to have, but it's the whole picture you'll want to look at.
