so the problem at hand with trying to reach the signs so early is - the lanterns don't seem to be floating down the river. a darkness persists over the village and they are probably still holding onto both their lantern and note.
but lune will take pity on them both.
he approaches from somewhere nearby, his hood down, eyebrows raised as he looks over them both]
[... Yeah. North is tossing the lantern over her shoulder once Lune appears, letting it land back in the water. Hi. Your local murder ladies got fucked up.]
... We did what we had to do. [Flatly. She's incapable of getting physically tired, but that doesn't mean she can't be emotionally exhausted after all of that.] I assume you know why.
Hm... To do anything to completely erase evidence of what you've done would could as interference. Though perhaps something to make it less immediately apparent...
[yeah, he doesn't see a reason why he wouldn't try. he looks over them both]
... North, express a moment of emotional vulnerability in front of three different people. They cannot be currently present, so Emma and I are not available for your task.
And Emma...
[he seems thoughtful for a moment before he smiles faintly]
Receive two sincere declarations of love from others - and seek Ookurikara's forgiveness. Even if you might not receive it, I urge you to at least make the attempt.
Well... you do possess the Spitfire ability yourself if you'd want to do anything to mitigate her temptation to laughter. I do not know if I can do anything to directly cancel out an item's ability...
[INTERFERENCE but
as for emma's question, he offers a smile]
You could always tell him that you've eliminated a corrupted. I do not think he would be so quick to sell your life when you took care of something that he himself would've done.
[It's not ideal. But if that's their only option, then she'll use her ability on Emma to see how much damage control can be done. She'd rather not get caught because Emma was too busy laughing herself to death? Anyway--]
You really think Ookurikara won't rat us out if Emma tells him that?
In truth, I believe that Ookurikara operates in a way that he makes choices on how the world ought to be. He will question your reason for secrecy, because if the task you completed was only to ensure the safety of others, why would you be condemned for it? He would prefer not to waste time solving a murder that was done to ensure the protection of others.
However I do not think that he would then choose to see you punished for your service. If there is something else to be solved - he would choose to pursue that lead instead.
[but lune will allow the scroll to materialize in his hands, offering it over to Emma]
If he gives you additional trouble, have him speak to me.
[First Shess, then Lea, and now Ookurikara... You're supposed to involve as little people as possible after murdering someone? And yet.]
Fine. Emma can talk to him. [Though she's unhappy about it.] I'll trust you, Lune. But I plan to hold you accountable if Ookurikara gets one or both of us killed.
It is not often that I meet failure - though I will also say that people will also not always listen exactly as I expect. Nonetheless, that has never stopped me.
[lune will break a number of rules just to tell people shit he maybe shouldn't]
... well, they are meant to be rather difficult tasks. Even I cannot say if he will entirely forgive you - perhaps you can at least come to an understanding.
Even I can only make a guess as to why you chose to alter his emotions as you did. If one were to seal away your emotions after you lost someone dear to you, how would you react?
Oh? I think he was incredibly calm - which may have made the whole ordeal all the more difficult.
[it doesn't take away from the fact that kara is stubborn but]
After all, it is difficult for one to compromise their ideals to begin with.
And when one chooses to wield a sword - they are constantly forced to consider what those ideals are. Often, the most just of reasons is that they have some things, or someones, that they wish to protect.
Given that Shirasu's legs were unbroken by the time that he was found, could it truly be said that Ookurikara was wrong to assume the worst?
Of course - such is merely an old man's opinion.

If you can call being a thick headed asshole "calm."
[Karas have no rights.
There's a pause, though, before she speaks up again.]
... But I get what you're trying to say, I guess. His reasoning is similar to ours. [Awful.] Enough that, if there's anyone who would understand why we made the choices we did... it's him.

[Corruption... bad...]

[That’s all she’s got, especially since it’s said through laughter that she can’t quite stop. It’s fine. Please help them.]

but regardless lune will look between the two of them.]
I do - and you have my thanks for taking it upon yourselves to find a resolution.
[and for that he will bow his head for a few moments before raising it to look back up at them]
What is your aim now?
no subject
We want to do a task. In exchange for whatever you can do about... this.
[Gestures. At both of their hecked up selves.]

[The pained laughter is just going to continue indefinitely.]

She's going still in the way only a machine can, shoulders rigid as she receives her task. No? Nope? No thank you? Maybe she'll die instead? Haha.
When she speaks up again, it might as well be through gritted teeth.]
And there's nothing you can do about the fucking laughter?
[Obviously not but she might as well confirm??]

...You want me to go to him like this? Lune, he’ll tell everyone that I was acting weird.

Are you comfortable with me telling him? I wouldn't have to mention that you were involved.

[MAYBE,,
but regardless lune looks pretty damn confident]
I would not advise you in a way that would lead to your certain doom. While the final touch of convincing him is in your hands...
I rather think that making an ally of him would make your lives much easier.

As for the... forgiveness part. [...] You know him better than I do.
[Please help her, etc.]
