Corona

Every Tuesday, the Corona will meet with the Signs and be presented with three choices to help or hinder the game's progress. This may include items, effects, scenarios or more. However, they will not be provided any further information about these choices and their results will vary. They will have to pick wisely.

Should the Corona choose to not pick at all, the Signs will pick for them instead and inflict a punishment on the Corona.

When the Signs seeks to summon the Corona, a portal will appear when they find themselves alone. Upon entering the door, they will be brought into a tea room where the Signs are waiting for them. When their visit in the room concludes and they choose to exit, the portal will disappear. The Corona will find that no matter how long they spent in the tea room, no time has elapsed outside of the portal.

Additional notes:
The Corona will be allowed to ask questions about the ongoings of the games and communicate with the Signs in their weekly meetings. They will be able to also receive small hints in the game should they perform well, including game mechanics, locations and more. However, the information received will be up to the Signs' discretion.

The only thing I'm getting closer to is a headache, Roxas.

[ he's. sighing, but he's decided between five and seven is as good as he's gonna get? ]

Third time's a charm. [A shrug.] Sorry. I know this is frustrating but I don't like it either.

[leaberator]

You're not giving me much to work with, is the issue. [ alright, alright. fine. ] Changing the line of questions, then: why did the corruption get three people last week? Can you tell me that much?

[cyclists]

[Axel should maybe think about that, but Sol leaves it alone.]

It's getting stronger. [...] You know how the darkness works at home, right? It's similar to here. It can manifest in different ways and it can control people in different ways. It's not just something that picks people and decides to take over. It can grow from any sort of feelings like anger, or fear, or even just being overprotective. It latches onto the dark part of the heart and shapes itself based on its host.

The corruption got to three people last week because it found three appropriate hosts. The universe still stopped us from coming back here that night to stop them.

[leaberator]

[ axel is only as smart as the dumbass player behind him ok. He listens to all of it with a serious frown on his face, to at the end of it he deadpans: ]

Does the universe not realize it's being real counterproductive? [ he still doesn't really see the difference between this darkness and the one back home, honestly, but does it even matter. ] As it stands, we're ripe breeding ground for it. [ well, people usually are, so. ]

So only two people can feel it in someone, and the rest of us can't protect each other during it... [ he stops, frowning. ] No, you guys can't. You can't interfere on anything we could theoretically do ourselves, including figuring out any answer. That's how it's been all these weeks. If all these extra powers are meant to help, it goes without saying at least one should be some kind of-- defense.

[ he... droops a bit, waving a hand around ]

Or does it? I wouldn't exactly have put "pick an item or whatever at random" high on the list of priorities.

[cyclists]

[He's quiet because yeah, he came to that conclusion a while ago and it's part of the reason he doesn't exactly know how to talk to his friends anymore. He should be able to help, and so being prevented from doing so is starting to get really annoying really fast. It's not fair, and it makes their job almost seem kind of useless.

At least if he had his Keyblades he could fight back.]

At this point? Pretty sure it knows it's being contrary but we don't know why yet. [There's a frown Axel can't see.] Using your own powers to defend yourself, finding ways to work around the universe, and figuring out loopholes are all strategies to be doing.

You're working in conjunction with a couple of other people to keep us on track and find ways to pinpoint where the darkness is hiding. The more you do in your efforts even if it's picking items at random, the more likely I can actually help you.

[A beat.] But yeah. I can't do anything. I know.

[leaberator]

[ axel winces, belated and apologetic ]

That's not what I meant. You're not-- you can't help directly, but you're still helping as much as you can.

[ he doesn't have much else to say to the rest of it, because he's frustrated and anxious and exhausted, and it's always a great mix when he's trying to think, isn't it? why doesn't he try kidnapping someone again, that helped. wow okay bad train of thought, he clears his throat ]

I'm just trying to figure things out, and I was kinda using you as a soundboard.

[cyclists]

...no, I know. Sorry. [Ahh....] A lot of people...

[...let's not talk about how many people get on their asses about not helping enough or doing enough.]

Well anyway. You have to trust me when I say that you're going the right direction with stuff. Your instincts aren't always that bad.

[leaberator]

If you name names, I'm pretty sure I could shame them.

[ he says, knowing full well they won't do that. He doesn't comment on the instinct part because-- yeah, they're fine. his heart's fine at choices. it's his luck he has no trust in. But: ]

I trust you, that's never been a problem.

[cyclists]

[There's a pointed look somehow because yeah, he's not tattling on people, it's fine.]

I know. [He kind of just wants to kick the universe.] The thing about the roles is that all of them, in their own way, are designed to help protect you and everyone else. That's why there's so few of them. Smaller numbers, higher impact. But it still means that every role has a choice.

[leaberator]

[ so it's? five?

he decides to be nice and not say that out loud. ]

A choice... Do you mean a choice whether to help or not?

[ :T? ]

[cyclists]

[Fair. But there's a nod.]

Yours is a literal choice between several items. But not all of the choices are as literal as that. They just exist in a way that means picking and choosing if they'll let everyone benefit or make it worse.

[leaberator]

That's a reassuring power to put on a handful of people.

[ one of which is hisoka. ]

[cyclists]

In our defense? We didn't know until the night after we first met with everybody. The scrolls showed up when we went back and we had to do some quick picks.

[leaberator]

[ hm ]

... Lune picked Hisoka, didn't he?

[cyclists]

Uh huh. [A very flat tone.] If I had my way Hisoka wouldn't even be here.

[leaberator]

[ that's a FUCKIN MOOD ]

No kidding. [ he huffs ] But he is here, and the best way to keep him in line might've been to keep him occupied like this.

[cyclists]

I'm pretty sure that's what Lune was thinking when he did it. But sometimes he thinks way differently than I do.

[leaberator]

"Sometimes"?

[ buddy. ]

[cyclists]

Sometimes. [Let him live.]

You've talked to him a lot too, haven't you? [As if Lune isn't standing right the fuck there.]

[leaberator]

[ hi lune we're talking about you ]

Yeah. He's pretty fun to talk to.

[ which is a very diplomatic way to not admit he started talking to them both just to get info ha ha ]

[cyclists]

He kind of reminds me of someone, but I haven't figured out who yet. [It's weird. And it's fine, he can 100% just talk about grandpa.]

He's smart though. And...he kinda knows a little about what's been going on. [Back in KH land.] He's been helping a lot, so he'll probably help you guys if you ask, too.

[leaberator]

... I'm glad you've got him to help you out.

[cyclists]

It's made things easier. Especially when you weren't around. [Whether he means his friends in general or Axel specifically he doesn't clarify.]

[leaberator]

Yeah, you always think better when you're not on your own.
