It's a book on potions. I thought maybe if I studied it, we could figure out how to create something that would help in the future.

I helped Lea and Emma channel Swift Wind. It turns out hosting a ghost will knock you out for a full day and has some lingering effects. Like extended tiredness.

[Whatever weird grudge Sol had last weekend seems to be gone because he's ducking his head a little.] Thanks.

...are you okay? Maybe you should rest more. That sounds like a lot. [Horse channeling...would not recommend.]

[Ah. And sometimes Sol acts a more like Emizel. Huh.]

I don't usually sleep. The fact I was out for a day seems like enough rest.

No, you were just sort of impossible to talk to when you were like that. [Don't mind him.]

As long as you're sure. I've never had a ghost possess me before but it doesn't sound that comfortable.

Hm... I thought I did a fairly good job of containing myself. [Like he didn't completely lose it until he saw Lea got stabbed. Pretty good.] I wanted to know what it felt like.

I'll confess it's the first time I've experienced being possessed. That's not how specters work in the Netherworld.

You did your best, but it was still kind of risky. That power's one of the ones you have to be really careful with.

What's a specter?

As far as curses go it doesn't feel that bad. Perhaps it's because I knew I was under a curse. Milla seemed to have a... difficult time when she was under it.

A demon ghost.They can't possess anyone, but they can speak without borrowing another person's body.

You had a little more time to prepare yourself. I can't think of many people who'd just be okay with this.

How's that any different than a normal ghost? I thought that's how ghosts actually worked.

Saturday was... really the worst part.

Oh? Are you used to having ghosts around?

Not really, but I've read enough about them to figure that they can usually talk on their own.

Is the ghost lore consistent? I know the vampire lore isn't.

[cyclists]

I don't know about consistent, but aren't most stories just versions of what people know? That means it has to be consistent to somebody.

Some of them are simply fiction. According to some of my prinnies they're are parts of the internet dedicated to fake scary stories.

[He still doesn't know how they got the internet as prinnies, but there they are.]

Slenderman is not a demon.

A thin, unnaturally tall humanoid with a featureless head and face and wearing a black suit.

It doesn't exist as a demon or angel.

The human imagination is quite impressive.

...why would anyone think that's scary?

... It looms, perhaps?

Hm...sorry, I'm just not seeing it. Maybe if nobody's ever seen a monster before that'd be scary.

Have you seen something like that before?

They consider vampires and werewolves scary, though they also think that if they're bitten by either they'll turn into one themselves.

Nothing like Slenderman, no, but we have other scarier monsters where I'm from. If it's not biting, what turns people into vampires or werewolves?

Describe the monsters.

Nothing. Demons are simply born as vampires or werewolves. People who aren't don't turn into them.
