A connection is something that's special and holds people together even after a goal is reached. A goal is just something people work toward and once it's done they have no reason to talk to each other again. And that's what the difference is, I think.

Are there people here you would still want to see when this is all over?

Yes, there are. I'd like to keep in contact with you, Akane, Shess, Namine and Milla. I'm sure there will be others. As I get to know people better, I want to keep in contact with them.

If the universe can bring us here, it doesn't seem impossible to make that happen. Especially if it's young and can be shaped.

If I had any ideas at all, I'd be trying all of them. It's been a guessing game since we got here.

That's very little time to acclimiate before you had to deal with all of us.

Did you have to deal with the darkness when the two of you were alone?

We weren't exactly expecting you guys. I think the universe was though and just didn't tell us? It's hard to say.

We were here trying to figure out the instability of the core and how to fix it.

Does it speak directly to you, or is it more akin to impressions?

It does whatever. [This doesn't sound like he doesn't know, but more like he doesn't think it's relevant to tell Val.]

It's like we said. You guys are the ones who have a direct hand in fixing it. With the corruption, you guys are the ones who can clear it out of the gateways and learn to decide how to help control or stop it.

So far it seems like we're finding the darkness after it's already struck.

True as that is, you're also finding methods to combat it and help change what it does. [Like purifying a horse.]

I've heard those are one use. Perhaps we'll find more.

I would hope so. Why else would we be told to open these gateways for you?
