[Sol is in the garden today and seems to be watching the koi fish. When Val approaches, they look up and lift a hand to greet him.]

So it did. Are you happy?

[Ah yes, the koi fish. The ones that aren't good to eat.

He walks up and settles in next to Sol.]

I'm happy to be alive.

That has to count for something. [A glance at the fish.] We weren't really sure what would happen, but something came through. I think we're just as surprised as you are.

Someone implies it's one of us. Something implies it's not.

Did you know I wasn't going to die last weekend?

No, not really. We can't really foresee that kind of thing.

What happens if I tell you? Are they going to be safe?

I'm not going to go yell at them if that's what you're afraid of.

The two of you can provide boons if we sacrifice things of our own. They've used them to allow you to speak past the times you've been muffled. If they can come up with a task that the universe deems proportional, you can give a bit more.

Depending on the request a contract can be drawn up.

I guess that's true. The other things must have come from Lune because I didn't do those. But the contract was mine. [So that's something.] But it is possible, yeah. There are limitations but it's not entirely impossible.

[omegathree]

Do you know what the limitations are, or do they come up when the question or boon is asked about?

[cyclists]

The latter. I think depending on what you're asking for, we'd get guidance to what you could give in exchange. Sounds easy, doesn't it?

It does. Is it more complicated in practice?

[cyclists]

Still depends on what you're asking for, Valvatorez. I won't be able to tell until then.

If I wanted to stay awake during Thursday nights? Would I need some kind of conditional?

If that were even possible, it'd have to be a really big trade. Especially since it sounds like you want every Thursday.

So that isn't possible. What about if I wanted to awake if a specific person was targeted?

[cyclists]

I didn't say it was impossible, I'd just have to ask. That might be possible, too.
