You'd think so, but at the same time I don't know if that'd just make it even more mad or not. Like that'd be an easy way out.

"Easy way"— Are you kidding me? [HEY, THE UNIVERSE???] Someone's dead, and a kid is up for execution tomorrow. But it'll get mad if things aren't hard enough for us? What the fuck is wrong with the universe?

I've been asking myself that question for weeks. Haven't found an answer for that either. [Bitter? Bitter.]

I want to say maybe the universe didn't know how bad this would get either, but at the same time there were things set up here that makes me wonder otherwise. So now it's finding a way around those.

Sounds to me like more evidence that it wants us dead.

I don't get what the point of bringing us here is if we're being set up for failure.

Do we know we're being set up for failure? Or do you think we have to hit a certain criteria first before we can do anything else?

I think being straightforward with one's intentions goes a long way to avoid unnecessary grief.

I don't disagree. It's then about how to make the universe actually respond to us. That's where we keep getting stuck.

Well, what approaches have you tried?

Asking directly, waiting for answers, threatening it...I've tried a couple of things.

What— Is it waiting for you to smile and flatter it?

That wouldn't surprise me. It gives us information on scrolls whenever it feels like we've earned it.

It's a wonder how it expects you to get anything done like that.

There's something to be said about timing, but I don't know whose clock they're working on. If they were really concerned about how the corruption was spreading you'd think they'd be working faster to help us help them.

...but you get why it's frustrating for us, too?
