[Hello, Lune. She's pulling the talisman from the CYOA out of her pocket, holding it up so they can see it.]
There's someone out there with the power to save two of the partnerless. How can I be sure there won't be any overlap between the people we save if I use this?
I will know if the power is used, or if you will choose to use the talisman. I intend on asking who the second person will partner, to ensure that none will be left unpartnered this week, as long as both options are taken.
[so basically if someone chooses entirely not to use an option that sucks but otherwise lune will do their best to make sure everyone is covered]
Ahaha. I had once told my comrades that I do not believe in words, only war and dance. [they say this with a remarkable amount of seriousness] What use are words and spoken intentions when actions are often what propel people forward?
And yet now I am in a situation where I can only offer but words.
Even so....
I assure you that I do not wish to see any of your efforts wasted, and hope you will accept it even if I have only but words.
Do you not care for dance? Where I am from, it is used to communicate with the gods, the spirits of the departed, and rally the hearts of the downtrodden.
[so hell yea. dance.]
But you possess a strong sense of drive and responsibility.
[She huffs out a laugh, completely devoid of humor.]
And that's where your world and mine differ.
[why did david cage curse her with the tragic strip club backstory.]
Don't thank me yet. I'm not doing it for your benefit— or because I feel responsible for the others. [they're not ~her people~, etc etc.] I just don't want to give the darkness the satisfaction of winning.
[there is a soft echo of that before lune seems to consider their answer thoughtfully]
I suppose it is simple to say that I am merely an old man.
I have lived a rather long life, though for a portion of it, I did not possess a will of my own to act as I desired. Someone granted me that ability - that chance - and I have since enjoyed it. I like to think that I have learned plenty in my time, though I still have more to learn.
We were offered a chance to oversee this series of events, even though we were not entirely told what we were agreeing to - we did not know that your deaths would be involved.
Even so... I feel as though this is the position in which I am best able to help, and it is now my responsibility to each of you to try to assist.
She doesn't know what she expected out of this line of conversation, but suddenly finding herself relating to Lune was not it. Uh.]
... I see. [Quietly, because. Well. What the fuck.] Then it looks like we have something in common.
[She won't specify which part, though. That's up to them to figure out.]
You didn't know the full details, but you still accepted. The universe must have given you one hell of a sales pitch, if you didn't find it suspicious. [...] Or maybe you're both stupidly naive.
You asked me if there is anything there might bring me joy aside from assuring the peace and safety of others. I believe there is someone’s peace of mind in particular that I would like to ensure... and I do not think that I would earn it if I allowed this opportunity to pass.
If there is something that I was chosen to do - I see no reason why I shouldn’t answer it.
Whatever becomes of me is acceptable, as this choice was my own.
So— You accepted because the universe promised it'd help someone you care about? You willingly offered yourself up as its errand boy for something like that?

[Which is. Her concern.]
When will you be talking to them?

Though of course... all I can do is only caution and guide with my words. It’s a rather odd situation for me to be in.
[they’re not used to it! but they’ll pause in their flower arrangement to look at north]
If you are to use your talisman first, then I shall speak with them after it is completed.

[what the heckie was lune up to before this mess... but, anyway.]
Thanks. I'll make a decision soon. I just needed to know that this wouldn't go to waste if I used it now.

[Dance???????????]
... I'll accept them. For now. [...] I'd be fucking pissed with myself if I let the darkness take out more people than necessary, anyway.

[so it's not like lune is going to complain]
You have still acted to the benefit of others - regardless of reason.
I am grateful that the choice came to you.

after a beat:]
I don't understand you— Or Sol.

Perhaps that is my 'deal'.

I hope you do not mind me - at the very least, as opposed to another unknown.

but, she pauses.]
... You're not as bad as you could be, I guess.
[tsun voice: i GUESS!!]

Thank you.
I am quite happy to have your company as well.

she's making a face, though.]
That's not what I said at all.

Then I hope you find it acceptable, if the sentiment is still the one that I extend to you, even if it is unrequited.
[lune thinks north is great?]
