She's a kind and considerate girl. She scolded me once for constantly leaving the city—not because she minded for herself, but because it meant our sponsor always had to leave her duties so that I could re-enter.

That is very sweet. How old is she? Have you been looking after her long?

Forty-five, but Halfs age more slowly than a pureblood human. From a mental and physical perspective, she's only about eleven.

We've been together since the Cataclysm, so twenty-three years?

Did you volunteer to be her caretaker?

[nonbelligerent]

I don't know if you'd call it volunteering. Her parents had just died, and in the backlash against half-bloods at the time, she would've been killed. I came across her then and took her with me to the sura realm for her protection.

[cyclists]

Ahh, I see...

It is still a rather kind gesture on your part. You've been looking after her ever since, correct?

Yes. Until she no longer needs me, I suppose. I brought her back to the human realm when I could, and I intend to have her stay there.

The sura realm is ultimately no place for a human. She did well to tolerate it, but I know she was unhappy.

Good, good. I believe it is always best when children are able to enjoy life to the fullest.

Much happier. She loves the human realm, and she gets along well with a human family I knew from before the Cataclysm. Even once I leave, they'll be able to look after her.
