Shess's first impression of Shirasu was that he was polite, if very restrained especially considering how emotional half the game was. That was pretty much his continued impression until he was pretty sure Shirasu murdered a bird.

Aside from some ): because he did like Kazuaki, Shess doesn't really feel anything about murder itself, because pseudo-demon, but the main concern was if Shirasu was going to be a repeat killer since at the time there was no clear motivation for someone to kill anyone? And maybe Shess could've just asked but he had no reason to think Shirasu wouldn't just try and stab him if he did, so. Public accusation it was! Also, he was cooperating with Emma at the time and Emma might've been less chill about bird killers.

Still, he went out of his way to ensure Shirasu couldn't be mid-trialed even though he knew Kara would be pissed off if he ever found out, so you're welcome for that, Shirasu. After that, Shess wasn't particularly invested in his existence, especially since, like. Emma, Axel, and Milla reported everything Shirasu told them to him anyway.

Honestly, he thinks Shirasu's reason for murder was fair enough. Not necessarily what Shess would do because he's relatively pacifistic, but he's not going to begrudge someone for trying to survive. Too bad it didn't stick!

From that point, he mostly just heard about Shirasu's messages of salt and listened to Emma complain about how STUPID Shirasu's idea while he just shrugged and then immediately went to Roxas to ask, because he didn't actually think it was an inherently terrible idea. He didn't really disagree with a lot of the way Shirasu thought, which made it even funnier that Shirasu was so :/ about him.

To the end, Shess doesn't know why Shirasu had such a bone to pick with him??? Though he doesn't really care either, and just assumes "fair enough" because honestly he's more surprised that so many people put their faith in him when they knew nothing about him. Shirasu's reaction is closer to what he's used to, so. Mostly, he just cared if it was for a reason he should be concerned with, which he figured "no" because no one else was saying anything, so he moved on, held no ill will, and was happy enough to grant Shirasu's wish as he was going down the list.
