god so, in the beginning naminé was fairly neutral on akane because they didn't really talk much outside of their initial conversation and in trial, but akane just seemed like a normal girl? at that point naminé didn't really have any plans to run around and seek others out so she was just, yea ok. so she thought akane was fine but had no real incentive to go out of her way and talk to her because as far as she knew, no one naminé spent time with hung out with akane and akane wasn't seeking her out so. it was fine

but then akane approached her because of the bet and that's when it turned into (laughs into hands) because wow. the thing is, naminé was aware that the bet was probably going to be a bad idea, but she wasn't expecting minato to... keep going with it.... cause at that point she hadn't quite realized just yet how like That minato was, so she sort of thought he'd give up on the idea, and then akane came up all "hey haha what the fuck" and naminé felt!!! bad!!! but then akane was saying she wanted to be friends even after naminé fucked up?? and that made her so happy?? cause before that the person who kept being very nice to her was emma, but emma was also her partner so there was like a... reason for emma to be nice. meanwhile, akane had no other motive (that naminé was aware of) so it made her very happy. surely, nothing would go badly here

and that's how we entered the timeline where akane was naminé's bully. it was so fucking funny because literally every time someone else helped naminé gained some confidence and like herself better, akane would kick the door down and immediately reset that growth and naminé went back to thinking she was a terrible person, it was like fucking clockwork and it was so funny. and like, naminé is used to people being mean to her? but usually those people are more direct and obvious about kicking her, and akane just did it in such a mean girl way that naminé couldn't tell if it was on purpose or not, so she kept assuming it wasn't on purpose and that maybe she was just being too sensitive?? but then akane was so good at getting naminé to talk about her like past even though she really did not want to, and like. see the thing about naminé is that she was actually fairly okay with talking about what she did before? but usually just if it like, came up, like for memshares and things she'd have no issues with discussing it. but somehow akane always did it in a way that felt like it was being dragged out and it was so uncomfortable and it kept happening but naminé still felt obligated to share because akane was guilt tripping her into it, while simultaneously not sharing anything about herself whatsoever. it was a mess!!! but they were friends so it's fine haha!!

and then kazuaki died, and akane was worried about minato getting killed, which is why naminé told akane about the item to purify a corrupted person? she didn't want akane to be sad, so she told her so she'd worry less and also asked her not to tell anyone because naminé was worried that people might work less hard if they knew they had a safety net. and then akane blabbed about it anyway, which was when naminé was like "........hm" since. yeah. especially since akane kept saying she would never betray who the person was, but naminé felt like she had to say something or else akane might get in trouble?? and then after the trial, multiple people went up to naminé and were like "so akane is a shady bitch and you need to be careful around her" so haha.

but... naminé decided to keep being friends with her, even if she knew that it probably wasn't real from akane's end. she just kind of became determined to try to make it real? because honestly naminé is used to being around shady people?? axel literally tried to kill her and then never apologized for it after so like. shrugs vaguely. as long as akane wasn't going after naminé's other friends, it was fine, so she just continued on as normal after that. granted, naminé did start withholding information more from akane after that? like not entirely, because then akane would know that something was up, but she'd lie about what items she knew were in play and didn't mention the lms thing or anything when she might have told her about it before this happened. but it did make it easier to deal with akane? because even when akane was bullying her, now naminé was aware what was happening so she could be like "haha! oh akane, you're so silly" even if her feelings did.... continue to be hurt.... but it wasn't as bad as it was before she made the realization, which i think actually helped their relationship more than hurt it? since she now had a clearer sense of what was happening, and then around this time is also when akane stopped being so yan so the bullying lessened a little so it worked out

and then minato died and everyone was mean to akane. and on one hand, naminé understood why people weren't as sympathetic to akane because she was a mean person. but naminé still thought it was really like, nasty of a lot of the people there lmao. because yea akane could be a jerk but her boyfriend was just really horrifically killed and she was in mourning. i forgot who but someone was like "wow you're not the only person who lost someone so get over it" and that made naminé really? angry? because yeah akane wasn't the only person who lost someone important, but that did not make her loss any less important. and even if akane was being difficult, the fact that everyone was being so uhhh rough about it? was like ???? to naminé. like instead of being forceful just.... talk to her nicely.... and be kind.... IT COSTS ZERO DOLLARS TO BE A KIND PERSON, DAMN but yea after that naminé was extra nice to akane and would hover over her and mom her to make sure she was doing okay since like, naminé was aware that akane did not have much of a support system at this point so she did her best to be it

and then akane killed and. ok naminé wasn't happy with her?? it was in fact a stupid reason to kill someone, especially uncorrupted. but she couldn't help but wonder if things would have gone different if people weren't assholes to a teenage girl while she was at her most vulnerable, because even though they were all used to death and all of them were in a bad situation, again it is free to be nice. so naminé thought it was awful what she did to cinnabar, but she was still going to hold her hand and be her friend and there for her because sometimes you're friends with a murderer and you just gotta try to slowly friendship them towards the path of a good end

also hilariously, the same week akane and minato started dating was the week naminé realized she liked minato, so naminé decided she will never tell anyone ever. the coffin kiss was, in fact, entirely platonic though? IT HONESTLY WAS, THERE WAS NOTHING ROMANTIC ABOUT IT DESPITE NAMINÉ HAVING FEELINGS FOR HIM, but she is still terrified of akane finding out so they are never going to have a conversation about feelings and romance ever so rip
