Like with Zia's comment I'm deadass tempted to leave this and let you suffer but /bulldozes ahead

GOD. So we've talked about Roxas and Mikazuki being the NPCs for a while, but I don't think I really knew how their CR would go and it's surpassed everything I would have thought of. Like on the CR chart, Roxas truly respected and more or less idolized Jiji because to him, Jiji is what a Guide should be. It should be someone helpful, friendly, and someone poised and gracious enough to know how to talk to all kinds of people. He's since learned it's partially due to age and partially because Jiji's like this (and partially that he's not always nice, sometimes Jiji is a shitty old man), but it didn't stop him from desperately wanting to be like him and be Good. He wanted to be the best version of himself so he wouldn't be a burden to Jiji while they were doing this and so that he could help as much as possible.

Sometimes he felt like he made things harder by being a brat or by not knowing the answer or by telling Jiji about his own worries and issues, and it's why he was reluctant to talk to him about those things sometimes. His primary focus in addition to keeping his friends safe has always been to protect and help Mikazuki until his dying breath which is more or less what happened. He knows Jiji's stronger than he is, but nothing would stop him from trying so long as he stood a chance. He worries that Jiji isn't telling people how he really feels, and he was definitely worried about him after Tsuru died and probably fluttered around like a distressed baby bird trying to make sure he was okay. Roxas isn't always the best at communicating but he made a good effort for Jiji more often than not.

He respects him as a warrior and as an adult, and Jiji is also one of the only people (maybe THE only person) that Roxas will listen to without any kind of argument. He respects his opinion and often times wants to hear it and wants to speak to him as intelligently as he can. He feels like in something like this Jiji saw him as an equal and as a child at the same time and so he worked to try and balance that. He felt a companionship with him almost right away and it's not one that can be replaced or even really be compared to anything else? He doesn't know what the fuck a grandpa is, but if he did he would 100% say that Jiji felt like a grandfather to him.

He's afraid that he's going to try and leave, and that they'll lose contact, and that's not something he wants. But as far as he's concerned they're always going to be connected and Jiji has given him so many gifts and hopes that nobody else has. He believed in him and got other people to believe in him, too, and for that he's always going to be grateful.
