oh shess.

miki really loves shess a lot -- he made her feel welcome and calm when they first got here, and he was reliable so when it became clear their lives were tied together she wasn't overly concerned about things. ironically, a lot of this place is so much safer than her actual home so?? yeah. he was patient and interesting to speak to and she was very grateful to have him as a partner.

she comes from a place of loathing being alone as well -- like physically alone with no other company, so having him around was good for her. like a security blanket or something. ironically, him not needed to sleep and wandering around probably made her feel more uncomfortable than having him creepering around the house.

not that everything was perfect. he kinda inadvertently made her feel pretty worthless sometimes. not in a crippling way, but it was things like her realising just how much she learned from him and trying to get out there and be useful so she'd have something to share with him, only to find he'd already been there, done that, got the t-shirt. and worrying and caring about the people important to you is normal to her, so when he kept dismissing her attempts to look out for him while trying to look out for her kinda made things worse.

and made her dig her heels in a lot and look out for him more, because she knows what it's like to have no one looking out for you and it's terrible, she wouldn't wish it on anyone ever. she knows it was kinda hypocritical as well, because neither of them were 100% open with each other and still had so many secrets -- but she's always a little lowkey convinced she'll be alone again, so... yeah. miki sucks at sharing her feelings and not flinging herself at things in the hopes she'll keep someone safe, even if she gets hurt in the process, news at ten.

but she genuinely cares for him a lot and she definitely, definitely doesn't hate him. she just got frustrated sometimes. but couldn't stay frustrated for long because shess?? is nice??

and honestly she was always going to fight the clown for him, she's seen worse than hisoka. sort of. FIGHT THE CLOWN.

she's proud of him though, and believed in him all the way through to the end. (miki voice) "shess is my vote for last man standing" every damn time someone asked her, he was always the person she trusted most to see them through.

i actually have no idea what she'll be doing or where she'll be going but shess will get messages, whether he answers them or not, just to let him know she's doing okay and thinking of him and he can't tell her not to so, ha.
