he also honestly thought emma was one of the best people here, even though he would go around telling people "yeah, emma hates me" bc she was just always so incredibly frustrated around him haha but she was always checking up on him and trying to get him to realize that sometimes people are assholes, that his opinion and wants are just as valid as anybody else's, to try to be more concerned and thoughtful about things, etc. a lot of people tried to get minato to take better care of his health and were satisfied with focusing on just that, but he felt that emma was more concerned about his life in general so he could be more reliable and competent, sort of like... the sort of life lessons a parent would sit down with their child to talk about, and he'd lost his parents too young to have that, so he sort of equated emma with what his parents might have been like and that's why she's his boggart, bc his boggarts shifted between people whose deaths he felt responsible for and that was futaba, ryoji, and his parents when he was little and felt like he should've died with them AND SORRY THIS IS WHY I DIDN'T WANT TO SAY, BC IT WAS JUST MINATO PROJECTING and that's why emma was his number one feared person, bc if he were to be around her any more than he needed to, he would be more attached and then if she dies he'll also want to die and he's just "haha let's not do that"
