minato forgetting who both your characters are was sad and funny and then cinnabar forgot him and i sat there and whispered to myself "this is karma........"

he forgot tsurumaru bc it'd been two months since he'd seen him, but the reason why he connected him with bob-chan was bc minato was the one who showed him the thing where you move a chicken around but their head stays perfectly in place and tsuru was so absolutely delighted— and it was that reaction that struck minato bc that's exactly the reaction he loves seeing and invoking in other people, that wide-eyed excitement. and he sort of carried that with him for a while, and felt very comfortable being here in who knows where, bc he could hold onto the belief that he's still capable of making people smile.
and then two months passed. and minato felt real bad about forgetting a person and only remembering the memory, bc he's supposed to care more about people, but it felt bad!! so he tried really desperately to make it up to tsuru by trying to think of fun things to do, but he wasn't very successful in that. for his wish at the end, the most he could do was ask that tsuru's somehow able to see polar bears, bc he's sure that tsuru would be delighted by them and that's the best minato could give him

namine....................... touches the ground, every time they talked i wanted minato to tell her just how much she means to him, she really was his best friend in the game bc she'd always stayed by his side and does stupid reckless things with him and she never blamed him for any of it. it was sort of like seeing himself, in a way, bc he was always the person who would agree to do whatever the other person wanted and just being there made them feel appreciated and that's what he felt too, the fact that she would always check up on him and worry about him and she just always looked so sad all the time that seeing her smile would always lift his heart bc namine deserves happiness!! he always felt accepted for who he is, flaws and all, and a lot of what they talked about really resonated with him bc when their promise of "i'll always be by your side" changed to "i'll always keep you in my heart" it was him coming to terms with the fact that he'll most likely be going back home alone in the end, but at the same time, he won't ever feel alone bc the bonds he made here are ones that will always be with him and give him strength. being around namine made him feel loved, and it was a very warm, very novel feeling, and there was a tag somewhere that i can't remember where now but it was something about minato thinking that he'd never really felt happiness in his life, but being with namine, he thinks that's what happiness must be, just being around somebody you like and being comfortable around them and they don't even have to do or say anything, just being together makes him happy. actually, i think it might have been amnesiac minato who first said that he loved her, bc all he has to go on is who namine is as a person, not any of the memories he had of her, and zia is a coward who won't post to the tl;cr meme but there's so much that minato and axel talked about memories and keeping people in their hearts bc the brain might forget but the heart does not, and minato's heart did not forget namine even if he had no clue who she was. minato loved a lot of different people for a lot of different reasons but this is probably like... the only romantic love lmfao
