[Welcome to your ghost channeling! The rules are simple:

1. The person who the ghost will inhabit will be incapacitated for the next day. Since this is happening on Monday, Val will wake up in the middle of Tuesday - more or less 24 hours after it happened. He'll be exhausted until Wednesday.

2. Val won't be aware of what happens while he's possessed.

3. The ghost cannot communicate through any form of word, written or spoken.

4. The exchange between the channeler and the channeled will be able to last 20 comments total, 10 comments from Emma and 10 from Swift Wind. It can be observed by other people, but they can't interject!

Regardless, she’s hurrying forward to help him, taking hold of Val’s arms to try and help Swift Wind to a sitting position, at least.]

Hey. Swift Wind? We don’t have very long. We need to find out who made you all that food on Thursday night. Can you think of a way to tell us?

[Swift Wind tilts Val's head to one side.

The confused expression on his face fairly screams "Why?"]

[As gently as she can manage:]

...It’s very important we find out. Knowing who gave you that food is going to help a lot of people. You want to help people, right?

[Of course he wants to help! Helping is what he does best. It's even in his username.

He still seems a little confused about how finding out who made him food is going to help them, though. Actually, he seems a lot confused about that. So his expression is puzzled, even as he nods. He studies her for a moment, then points at Emma and taps on Val's head with a finger.

Hey! He has hands now! Hands are pretty cool.]

The person who gave you that food is a bad person who wants to hurt people. We think they hurt you, too. That’s why we need to know who it was, okay? So we can stop them from hurting anybody else.

Hey! Why would anyone want to hurt him? Swift Wind looks heartbroken just at the very idea, and looks down at the ground. (Ooh, feet. He has feet. That's cool too.) But, anyway. He needs to mull this over -

Ooooor not, because Emma is talking!

He listens to the names.

Thinks about it.

Shakes his head.]

Okay... First I'm going to give you a question, and then another yes or no list. Just nod or shake your head again for each one, okay?

[She frowns.]

Did you pause there because one of the people from the first list made the food, but it was someone else who gave it to you? As for people... Was it anyone out of Shirasu, Julius, Akane, Ookurikara, or North?

[Swift Wind listens carefully to her question, as if to make sure he's understanding it correctly.

He shakes his head once.

Then he pauses, looking a little conflicted, before giving the tiniest, most reluctant nod.]

[No to the first question, but yes to the second - she files that away.]

Okay, I'm going to narrow it down a little, but I need you to still nod yes or no, okay?

Was it either Julius or Akane?

[he shakes val's head]

[She frowns.]

Was it either North or Shirasu...?

[hashtaghelping]

[this is the expression of someone who really, REALLY doesn't want to answer that question]

[After a few moments, trying her hardest to look concerned and not like she's screaming internally:]

...I know this is hard, but we need to know who gave you that food. Nothing bad is going to happen to them, I promise, but we need to make sure they don't do anything to hurt anybody else.

You'll be doing something really amazing for all of us if you answer, okay? It'll be easy. Just nod or shake your head.

[Swift Wind doesn't want to answer. In fact, he still looks worried. But... Emma has a point. And if he can help them, by making sure they know about someone dangerous, then...

He nods.]

[...Hm.]

North?

[hashtaghelping]

[he shakes his head emphatically




actually, from the look on val's face, the very idea that north could have killed him, even accidentally, seems to offend him.]

Shirasu, then...?

[He doesn't really look like he wants to answer.

He's looking down at Valvatorez's hands. He's essentially already answered, by saying it was either North or Shirasu, but that it wasn't North. Still, there's something he's still very obviously worried about.

He looks up at Emma, then nods slowly.

But then he holds up a hand, and shoots her a pleading look as he holds up four fingers.

He really hates that Shirasu is Four's partner. He stans her so hard, and he knows naming Shirasu here might put her in danger.]
