Firstly, I wanted to check something.

We know that people under the influence of the Corruption don't remember what they do when it takes over completely, but when the host is in control is the Corruption aware of everything that's happening?

Yes, it is capable of laying dormant within someone to observe all other actions.

So we're just sitting ducks. It can hide away, mostly undetected unless we're paying incredibly close attention, and study potential victims? While we're all at a serious disadvantage.

To be able to correctly discern the corruption, purge it through your own efforts without taking an additional life, and allowing for no additional death to trespass between the partnerless -

It is not an easy feat.

And while I do find the harm that has passed to be regrettable, I do not agree with an assessment that you are without hope or reason to be more sure of yourself.

Mm. I wanted to ask if you knew anything more about the Pathway to the Core, since you spoke to Shess about it. Or, just explain what you do know in general.

He said about the possibility of returning to the dead back to their homes in their original state, and that the steps were vague but it was dependant on keeping the pathway to the core set...?

Sort of. It's more like...like we've been saying, the choice is up to you guys. Think of the core as a baby. [Speaking of babies, something inside Sol's cloak meows suddenly. He brings a hand up to pat it down.] It's easily influenced by the guidance of others, and depending on what it learns, it'll grow.

If you find a path that you want to go down and lead the universe toward it, you have to stick with it. Does that make sense?

[stillstands]

So... if we keep doing our best and showing it the good side of things even if bad things are happening, that'd work to "guide" it? Because I can't imagine finding a literal leash for this core and forcing it down the right path...

But that's right. It's like...there's a reason we keep telling you guys to work together. And to make sure that people understand that the universe is easily influenced, even with the darkness. The choice is if you'll learn to control it, or if you'll let it run and shape the worlds themselves.
