I would not say that prior contact with darkness would be enough to warrant corruption - after all, you must each combat it in your own ways.

I believe that is part of the reason why, yes.

If we go several weeks without finding the person... does that mean they'll start acting more and more differently?

[ as in, if it's three weeks from now and they still haven't caught their missing murderer, how obvious will they be ]

Do people get put into their elements based on their personality, or is it something else?

How people came to be into their elements is not entirely within our scope... however after observing each of you enough, I do find most of them fitting.

[there is some amusement in their voice at that, even if the answer is vague]

And I do believe that the corruption, if left to linger, will only fester.
