We do allow for favors in exchange for tasks, as long as the universe approves of it. But the missions are kinda up to us.

I'm not sure I'd call it burdening, exactly, when it's all sort of tied together. While I agree the problem here should maybe be a little more important considering it's the state of the worlds going forward, remembering that sort of stuff is just as important to motivate you to find a way around all of this. Something worth fighting for and something to try and protect.
As for your question initially...I don't know about removing people entirely, but it's something to consider and a possibility. I wouldn't say no yet.
Well. I hadn't really even considered it until you mentioned traversing planes, so perhaps it's just pessimistic of me to already be thinking of the worst case scenario. Ideally, if we sort things out properly here, then, well.

The return home before this is all settled, first of all. That would be a popular one if it were possible. Bringing back those who've died here after they've been purified. The reconstruction of your home worlds...that's something else that would probably have to wait and be discussed much later, if at all.
That's ... actually a lot less limitation than I was expecting. The universe really does have the two of you on a short leash when it comes to the day to day here, huh.
Anyway. If I were to ask about, I don't know. Knowing if or when the darkness is acting, and being able to intercept? Is that possible? Or at least, to be able to wander even after it tries to put us to sleep?
Or maybe just being able to protect certain people from the darkness corrupting them if they don't have a partner. You did something to the house Mary was in- is there a way to replicate that on a smaller scale, maybe?
Mm...yeah, that kind of thing is possible. There are conditions that have to be met and other qualifications, but it's not at all impossible. The universe doesn't just let these things happen otherwise we'd be able to come back here on Thursdays, but it's not opposed if a favor is traded.
There are some time limitations in place, too, but you have options. [There's a thought though.] The house we placed Mary in was a special circumstance. I don't know how we could downsize and have it be that effective, but we could look into it.
Time limitations like we probably can't grant something that allows you to be awake every single Thursday or something like that, you know? [Which. Sucks.] And I mean it was something we created specifically for that cause because the universe knew we needed it. They're a little more picky if they think it's not something necessary. Overall, we can't mess with the setting that much.
That makes sense, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. [ universe is a dick, part 2 out of who knows how many. ] You'd think it'd consider it necessary considering that we haven't exactly solved the problem of corruption yet, just a few of its manifestations.
