first and foremost for miki, minato thought she was a very practical person, even from the very very start when she shot down his "i think we're all dead" theory haha he was always trying to figure out how to get along with miki and probably wasn't really successful, bc she doesn't play along with him when he suggests something stupid like morse code lights through the window or talking about his sad attempts at cooking, those arguments were fun for him but probably not for her haha but i think he sort of ended up leaning towards thinking that he could get along with her if he were to be more serious too, like the whole hourglass thing and actually using morse code as a way to communicate, those sorts of things that were... boring for him... but he thought maybe miki would appreciate sdlkjk competence really isn't something he wanted people to believe he has
but also!! it was at the very very beginning, but it was both lili and miki who had conversations with him about the difference between living and surviving, where surviving is getting through the days one at a time like minato had been doing, while living was the freedom to make his own choices and to enjoy life and be happy that he's alive. so he decided that yeah, alright, he's supposed to be dead and so he can take the rest of this time as a chance to "live" aka be as reckless and self-destructive as he wants HAHA! it took a bit, but he really did enjoy his time here largely bc of that conversation with miki, focusing on helping people and things that make him happy so he could enjoy his time here, rather than worry too much about staying alive when the possibility of dying on any given day was always very real
i think out of most people here, miki was one of the few that minato was most toned down with, and he admired her for being rational and reliable, with the unfortunate side effect of thinking that if miki's there then she'll take care of things and so he doesn't have to;;
