OH NO THAT'S SO CUTE

anyhow, Minato was worrying. NO SURPRISES THERE. Quick read was that Minato was kind and well-meaning, but kind of clueless and dumb with no sense of self-preservation, and also probably very depressed. But that's... also why Shess chose to focus on that last one, instead of trying to get Minato to be more careful as he figured everyone else was doing. Doing all these silly things, even if they were also very reckless, seemed to help him enjoy life more, so Shess didn't want to take them away and instead settled for trying to moderate them. Or, for helping in small ways, like learning how to bake bread so that he could make birthday bread for him...

(Fun fact: Lune gave Shess a task to express emotional vulnerability to someone, and oocly this came after he had a bit of a heart-to-heart with Minato but icly before, therefore fulfilling the task which also makes Minato one of the only people Shess was ever emotionally open around, even if just for a moment. WE WERE DYING THAT IT WAS MINATO, OF ALL PEOPLE.)

He also kept Minato's omamori to the end because it was a sweet gesture, even if he absolutely did not think it would do anything at all. It did make a good hiding place, though (he kept actually useful talismans in it), and helped cover for his second and more important omamori. But mostly, it was for sentimental purposes.
