like, yes, it worked out well for him that minato thought he was a good person, but he also was like 'please, you have to be smarter than to trust me like that'... he thinks he's going to be taken advantage of and he kind of doesn't want that to happen. he's not entirely sure he likes that but that is just how it is now.
but also taking advantage of that is why he wanted to make minato his partner, because he thought he was easy to use. so. it kind of goes both ways! very unfortunate. shirasu did actually like spending time with him and teaching him how to cook, though.
