he liked her just for being a shady teen at first, but then they hung out more and then akane told him about basically being god and he was like oh? valid, you should do what you want then. and that is why he's been trying to encourage her to be more active and take care of things for herself... because she might not always be able to rely on people doing them for her, and because if that's her position she needs to be able to take charge more.
so basically he's very proud of her for killing cinnabar even without him, since he died before he could help...
but he's also extra fond of akane because she helped him out in turn? he wouldn't have been surprised if she decided it wasn't her problem, but she helped him get his legs fixed and let him borrow a weapon for self-defense and that just extra sold him on her. thanks for being a good kid, akane, now go home and be a more proactive god and take care of people who give you trouble.
