Kazuaki is a simple bird: someone likes video games, he trusts them. They didn't have any long or detailed conversations to start with but just the shared interest plus the fact Futaba was young made Kazuaki want to root for her. He even stubbornly voted for Four when it came to "the corrupted was a young woman in green" situation. He meant it, when he really said he didn't want it to be her!
then, like, a week later he was dead two and there was a chunk of time that was- really fun? It seems weird to say that but once he was in the graveyard Kazuaki really got the opportunity to be a little goofy and happy instead of 24/7 anxious and a lot of that was due to hanging around Futaba!
He was very glad to hear that Futaba had people back home who cared for her. If she didn't, he might have ended up going harder but instead they ended up as a good set of goofy friends/brother-sister bond and not the brother-sister bond that's usually in dating sims. They both didn't really dip into each other's respective darknesses but... that was fine! Sometimes you just need a friend to ignore that stuff with. He'll definitely come visit her and be a Not!Mona.
