she had way more of a moral compass so they were never going to get along fully, but he liked her attitude? like, the whole dynamic later on of like 'you're an asshole and a creep but whatever we're still speaking apparently' was something he appreciated, because the people still trying to be nice to him weirded him out? it was refreshing to have someone just come in and go 'what's up, asshole, we're going to have a conversation'.
BEFORE IT ALL WENT TO SHIT, THOUGH, she was one of the people he talked to the most, somehow... again, he just liked her attitude, & that's why when he got the task to put trust in and be trusted by 4 different people, emma was on the list... which was a bad decision in the end, oops. he was definitely suspicious of her during that week but he tried to be less paranoid for roxas' task... so figuring out she was probably involved in outing him really helped break what roxas was trying to do at the time. (':
in the end though, he was kind of like 'well, that's on me for being stupid and listening to somebody about trusting others' so that's why he didn't shut her out later. he fucked up, he got caught out for it. all of the above kind of combined to make him willing to actually backstory-share with her after dying, especially when it turned out they had more in common, but... honestly, he left out a lot and he did it in part because he wanted someone on the living side to be at least a little sympathetic. he spent a lot of time concerned they'd leave him dead if they could, so it was a little bit actual sharing and a little bit of a calculated move to go 'yeah so this is why i'm fucked up'.
also roxas was mad and told him emma had called him an idiot and he's been lowkey annoyed with emma for being this way to roxas but that's fine, he's never speaking of it.
IT'S BEEN A RIDE, BASICALLY, i've loved their cr a whole lot ok.

like, their digimon bullying adventure solidified it but she always struck him as someone pragmatic and who understood that sometimes, you really just have to pull some shit to get the best result? he never really tried to get to know or open up to her because he also did not trust she wouldn't have thrown him under the bus if it were ever the best option, but he appreciated her input in trials and everything and i'll be totally real, she was a pick for the final person because he didn't think she disliked him enough to leave him dead or fuck him over. also, the part where he thought she seemed pretty pragmatic again. he figured she wouldn't do anything too dumb.
also thanks for stabbing the guy who killed him even if he's going to remain kind of salty that they managed it when he couldn't defend himself well enough.

like, as valid as it was not to talk about it because he also wouldn't have? the fact that she got doxxed twice about things she didn't tell him kind of ended it for shirasu-- if his cr hadn't told him and it had come up later, it would have been fine, but after trying to corner her into admitting things twice he was more on the side of 'well, clearly you're not going to tell me things yourself, this won't work'. which, you know. he was being highly hypocritical because he straight up lied to her about his element, but after he told her about it and (as far as he was concerned) didn't get honesty in turn, that sealed it for him. even though she'd been honest about hers to start off with. yeah. he's an asshole.
but after framing her didn't work he did actually intend to at least not keep trying to kill her, even if he wasn't going to trust her unless she started sharing... the easy way out didn't work, and he didn't want to take the risk, so he was going to behave up until he got outed for what he did. shirasu would legit have helped her kill, he meant the offer, even if it was in part just to keep an eye on her and try to make sure she wasn't killing him- bc the other problem was seeing her memories and realizing she was totally chill with killing who she saw as bad people.
shirasu, a resident bad person: oh. that's probably dangerous.
so yeah he was lowkey convinced she'd kill him if she had the chance, especially if she went corrupt! all of that is also why he immediately was like 'four probably killed the horse' when he was confronted about whether it was him. but also like i said earlier, if he didn't need to behave to have a chance at living again, he'd absolutely have taken advantage of her anger to try to enlist her in making a fucking mess for the living side... we are all lucky their chances at teaming up got scuttled, probably, but I STILL LOVED THREADING TBH

he liked her just for being a shady teen at first, but then they hung out more and then akane told him about basically being god and he was like oh? valid, you should do what you want then. and that is why he's been trying to encourage her to be more active and take care of things for herself... because she might not always be able to rely on people doing them for her, and because if that's her position she needs to be able to take charge more.
so basically he's very proud of her for killing cinnabar even without him, since he died before he could help...
but he's also extra fond of akane because she helped him out in turn? he wouldn't have been surprised if she decided it wasn't her problem, but she helped him get his legs fixed and let him borrow a weapon for self-defense and that just extra sold him on her. thanks for being a good kid, akane, now go home and be a more proactive god and take care of people who give you trouble. (:

like, yes, it worked out well for him that minato thought he was a good person, but he also was like 'please, you have to be smarter than to trust me like that'... he thinks he's going to be taken advantage of and he kind of doesn't want that to happen. he's not entirely sure he likes that but that is just how it is now.
but also taking advantage of that is why he wanted to make minato his partner, because he thought he was easy to use. so. it kind of goes both ways! very unfortunate. shirasu did actually like spending time with him and teaching him how to cook, though.

anyway i really did not expect this going in because shirasu saw one sign was sun-coded and decided to avoid sol? it helped that lune seemed like the more knowledgeable one... but then roxas was easy to talk to whereas jiji wanted to know things about him... so he ended up gravitating a little more to roxas without entirely noticing it was happening, because he was still helpful and was easier in general to work with. and because of that, he was more willing to listen to roxas when he wanted shirasu to trust people.
THAT WENT POORLY and roxas really kind of got the brunt of how badly that went for shirasu's general mental state, because he came in not really having anything at home to live for? his whole reason for trying to help at all was trying to get some of that back. so having that threatened was Very Bad for him and i am still honestly kind of surprised roxas helped dig him back out of it... it helped that he had a reason to not just go 'fuck everything' but if roxas hadn't been there, things would have been worse. he's been the replacement sun here and shirasu has ended up really fond of him and i hate it so much ty but thank you for it
also he's the only one who's gotten anything out of shirasu with no ulterior motive, because even sharing info about his brother with akane was part of a task-- roxas just got details from him because he managed to get more trust than everyone else did.

his stance on axel ended up weird for a lot of reasons? like. he is good at telling when people are not actually that dumb and he was super side eyeing how axel kept last minute helping solve things, and then axel pulled one over on him, lmao. but like, he mostly stabbed axel bc he felt cornered? someone just killed the purified horse so what chance did he have if everyone knew, he was going to take axel down with him. that straight up was the only thing he was thinking at the time.
which was real unfortunate bc he actually promised roxas he would try to help keep the kh cast alive. big whoops! but he didn't really want him dead after that-- I mean, kinda, but he wasn't going to do it. he fucked up and let himself get caught and he was mad about it especially because that was in part bc of roxas trying to get him to be less paranoid, but he wasn't going to try it a second time. partly because of roxas, again.
AND THEN axel actually helped with his injuries and shirasu had no fucking idea what to do with that. he tried to kill him and then he helped? the fuck??? that was bad because it reminded him of tenka, actually, and please understand I was sitting there like AXEL IS NOT ALLOWED TO BE ANOTHER KUMOU STAND-IN, YOU REALLY CANNOT DO THIS TO ME. so. he was kinda more willing to let axel be around but he was so thrown off by him at that point.
annnd the mixed feelings resulted in a few things because like I mentioned, he partnered with axel in part because he was like "fine, if you want to stick around, deal with this" and in part because he kind of hoped the dead partner streak would break. that went well!! but yeah it was definitely partly just shirasu being a shit to him. he also sent axel that salt tweet just bc axel was someone who talked to him and he had very few of those living side, not that he will ever say he lowkey didn't mind not just being left alone forever.
but he was still pretty /: at axel over everything so he sure did try to send kara a hint to get him to kill axel, so, you know.
everything was fine and he would like to never see axel again, thanks.
