time is fake, i whisper into my hands as i tell myself as long as their last thread isn't over yet there's still time to reforge this friendship

but ahhhhhhh cinnabar hated him so much at the beginning it was really funny, minato's persistence paying off... but also i'm so glad that the turning point was cinnabar's leg falling and breaking minato's arm bc minato wasn't originally going to be as reckless in this game, but then i sat there and went "oh i can break his arm" and that realization was eye opening and the timing of the war was perfect for him to just keep destroying himself and never stopping. thanks, sib.
but even cinnabar was so snappy at him, the kindness behind their words was always so apparent to minato, bc they were always worried about their poison ruining things or killing people and saying how much they hated it and minato tried so hard to find a way to show them that no, it's fine. i think a lot of minato's friendships were ones where the other person was a friendly person by default and so friendship was really easy and he didn't have to put a lot of effort into them, but with cinnabar it's like those social links where you've got to talk to the person 2-3 times on separate days and figure out what they like and bring an item to them and also max out some stat before they'll even talk to you. out of the entire game, minato was more serious about and put forth the most effort into becoming friends with cinnabar and since it was the cr that he actually actively pursued for once instead of people coming to him, it meant a lot more. and it hurt a lot more when things fell apart— like he'd been telling people all game that he doesn't really feel emotions and it's all just sort of blunted so he doesn't feel them or care much about them, but destroying his friendship with cinnabar made him cry and he was just "oh. i can't continue being like this"
he wants to see cinnabar happy!!!!! bc they said they wanted to be friends once upon a time and they gave him gifts and he'd never gotten gifts before since he never completed any social links lmao he also wanted to show cinnabar fireworks bc he assumed they'd never seen it before, and for minato, what he loves above all else is novel, unforgettable experiences, and he wanted cinnabar to have those too

YEAH WE FUCKIN ARE!!! you can assume that the thread we're having now ends on a more positive note even if we haven't gotten there yet, minato risking his life for them and saying that stuff will convince them more that he does care, even if they're still salty about akane...

i can't believe you're putting the blame on me for minato self-destructing ALSO!!! BUT FINE... THIS WARMS MY HEART SO MUCH WEH i'm glad cinnabar actually helped him grow a little bit?! cinnabar's nature means they're usually the one developing/improving through a relationship, i'm glad they could have an effect on him, as well... i'm glad minato could see through their rudeness and knew that they were actually nice. they'll remember those fireworks forever. :')
