EMMA... so it was a very weird experience for Shess to have to explain sura to a human. He knew it wasn't going to sound good, because it isn't, so he accepted Emma was probably going to look at him differently from then on. Both fair and unfair, to him, but he's also not ashamed of what he is and people here have no societal power over him, so he has no reason to hide it.

So he was surprised when she continued talking to him, and then confided secrets? He wasn't going to complain, and he was glad when she told him that she was able to look past [gestures to everything about sura] because prejudice both ways is a big thing where he's from, whoops. From there, it was mostly smooth sailing, even if it was also pretty obvious that there was a culture clash going on between them—which Shess accepted, because he didn't expect her to understand a sura mindset, and he didn't necessarily want her to change her own.

Admittedly, he did get kind of annoyed when she yelled at him about withholding info from her, especially since it was on the heels of her checking up on him and giving him space, as he internally just went "when I said I wanted to be left alone, I didn't mean come back the next day and start calling me an asshole?" He got why she was mad, even if he didn't feel sorry, so he didn't resist, but. He was just a little salty inside. Sorry, Emma. He did appreciate the later apology, though.

To the end, he accepts that he probably made her uncomfortable (he's actually surprised he didn't make more people uncomfortable), and he doesn't blame her at all for not being thrilled with the idea of him being last one standing. She's very human, and as tired as it sometimes made him, that's what he likes about her! She lets her heart rule her head, has an actual functioning moral compass, to an extent can only see within the boundaries of her own viewpoint, and did her best despite everything. In some ways, she really did embody everything that made humans stand apart from immortals—especially considering a conversation he had with Roxas about how those with short lifespans and those with long ones tend to see the world very differently. She didn't understand him (which was why she was never really going to get him to change his stance on expressing feelings), but honestly, it's probably for the better that she wasn't able to.

So, given everything she's went through, he hopes that she has a happy, if short life with Axel now.
